Embrace the tank Gilbert. It’s ok we know how to survive it. I personally would have given Lue the whole year. He needed time to change the Lebron culture. These cats don’t know how to actually basketball. Their whole world revolved around LeHessian. They needed time to purge that from their system. Besides if he truly sucked as a coach? That guy is next level cheap about some stuff for sure, but tbh, he’s not wrong. I could coach this team to the same record he likely will, it’s a talent based league. Same reason he didn’t pay Griff, it’s not like he did anything incredible, LBJ just decided to play here and we had a glut of assets. I understand your school of thought, but I think he takes it a bit too far. Side note, I had a chance to work with Griff for a day, incredibly intelligent and friendly. I get your point, but Phil Jackson isn’t busting down Gilbert’s door to coach this rag tag group of schmucks. If Larry Drew has to take it on the chin every night until Gilbert cans him, at least pay him accordingly. If anything give him a raise just for this year but under no circumstance should they extend him. He was one of the highest paid assistant coaches in the league for a reason. One of those reasons was to take over head coaching duty’s if called upon.
