The trade at the time made sense because they needed depth and they got it. They also got a bunch of young guys that they planned on having for life after LBJ which was the goal so they wernt left with Manny Harris and Christian Eyenga as starters after LBJ left

Nance is a really good player. Not a All Star but he is a positive impact type player with his ability to shoot/pass/handle as a big man and will fill the TT role nicely for coming years once he gets traded. Given his development this year I will actually say given starters mins. Nance is actually a better player than TT.

Wade asked for a trade, was unhappy here and wanted to go back to MIA so you cant blame that on the Cavs for honoring his request.

Sexton is a normal sized PG and given where he got drafted, he was absolutly the right pick. He was the #8th pick not 2nd or 3rd.

Garland was widely regarded as a top 3-5 talent in the draft and the Cavs went for BPA over need. Cant blame them again especially as a team thats not a FA destination.

Wade did not as for a trade. He did an interview after the trade and said he did not want to be traded because it would put a blemish on his career.

We just traded for Andre Drummond, why tho?

We gave up legitimately nothing (Henson, Knight, and a 2nd round pick). I would guess they want to see if they get lucky and can sign and trade him in the summer? Or maybe he's the stop-gap center while we rebuild the roster?

I guess it's really just a no risk move. See how he fits in with the team and figure it out in the summer.

I don't like it, I'm sorry he's just a bigger TT to me, IMO.

We could have tried to flip those assets for a 1st or a wing

...What assets? No one in their right mind is giving up a first round pick for two expiring contracts and a 2nd round pick. That's the whole reason most of us are "whatever" about this, we gave up nothing of value. Well, the 2nd round pick had a tiny, tiny amount of value. But this isn't 2010, no one is giving up 1st round picks for salary relief anymore.

Should definitely help us get an idea just how good/bad the guards are defensively.

This is the best part of the move to me.

Our guards look terrible defensively, but don't have any help.

This gives them the help, will they still look terrible?
