4 year deal.....that’s a kick to the nuts.

runs kyrie off, “forces” the bad contract of his guy, TT...then jets to LA and shows them instant commitment that he never afforded us....

that stinks.

thanks for the championship though!

At least should of a sign and trade and allowed the Cavs to get something. I think he did that cause no one is willing to sign that this a big name so he wanted them to keep their assets

So, now that it is a reality, do we find the best deals that we can for KLove, JR "We up?" Smith, Hill, Korver and Mr. Kardashian?  Clippers need a big man.

They should, but knowing how big Dan's ego is my guess is that they try to compete for the playoffs right away. Pity, we are kinda perfectly positioned for a three year tank job.

This year - Sell Love for picks/young high-upside players. Buy out most of the vets who are on their last year or send them out for 2nd round picks. Play a lot of Sexton and any other young guys we can get our hands on. Taaaaaaaaaank.

Next year - Absorb bad contracts in exchange for picks. Be meh. Get experience for Sexton/Our 2019 1st. Lose the pick to Atlanta, sucks, but oh well. Pick young guys with solid upside with the picks we get for absorbing salary.

Final year - Last year of "tanking" (IE, being bad, we wouldn't have to try much). Sexton and 2019 first get lots of experience. Get one last high draft pick. Take chances on young guys in the wrong circumstances ("The Oladipo Special").

2021-2022 - Sign two max FA's to compliment Sexton/2019 1st/2021 1st/young upside plays. Compete by the next year for at least a top 4ish seed.

I sincerely hope we just blow it up. I'm slightly worried that the front office and ownership might think we still have a chance at the playoffs and won't completely rebuild, but hopefully they know better. Get whatever we can for guys like Love, JR (if we can get anything), Korver (who should still have some value to a playoff team needing a good 3-point shooter), Hill, etc. Might be stuck with Thompson though with that contract of his. Suck for the next couple of years, get top draft picks, and wait until our cap situation is better. And get guys like Cedi, Sexton, and Zizic as much playing time as possible this year.

After that 3-4 year tank run, they won’t tank for a couple of seasons. They will try and see what they have. If they make any moves, it won’t  be for tank commanders.

Gonna be interesting to see how Lue developed now that he doesn’t have to build an offense lebrons iso

I agree with both of you.  Our starting 5 next year should be Zizic, Osman, Nance, Sexton and possibly Rodney Hood.  Watch them run, have fun, and hopefully learn how to win a bit as they take their lumps.

He’s given up trying to beat the Warriors.

Yep. He’s done. Sounds like he really wants his family out there hence the 4 year deal. Really wanted Bronny Jr in that high falutin school to expose his basketball skills.

Oh well let’s tank the freaking crap out of this. Keep a few guys and jettison the rest, that includes you Love.
