It is mind boggling that we have such a low ranked team right now, and yet are up against, or over the salary cap.

That’s the cost of competing for a championship for 4 years. Most of the contracts expire after this year.

All we’ve got is the MLE so no.

Any idea who we could/might sign with that? IMO our current biggest need is a young rim-protecting/lob catching center with some potential left. Nance is good but not enough.

WCS would be my first option but Nerlens Noel could be a good fit as well.

JaVele McGee? lol Are we bringing Chriss back?

We have nance tt and Zizic. We don’t need another big. We need wings.

In the worst way. I can't freaking believe we didn't draft a SF with length and defensive ability. We have been lacking a 3 & D wing for what seems like forever now.

I don't want to sign anyone. Our team sucks and overpaying middling free agents isn't a viable strategy. I'd rather build through the draft and hit up free agents when we have a good young nucleus. I wouldn't touch a FA with a price tag of over 7mil/yr.

Bron did that to us.

What were the other options? When you have Lebron Irving and Love you are going to be over the cap.  Now when good role players who the Cavs own the bird rights too have their deals expire during a title window, what do you do?

you couldn’t let Thompson or Smith walk. You either sign them or if you let them walk you have to sign a FA who would willing to accept the vet min to replace them.

Thats not really Lebrons fault tho. That’s called business. The Cavs were in a tough spot, and the players got the most money they could get.

Not sure why this isn’t just accepted by now.

They drafted exactly 0 people named "Wilder."

Dylan Windler is about as good defensively as I am. Not sure how he counts as a 3 & D wing when he couldn't guard people at Belmont. He's a shooting specialist.

Not saying I would have done anything differently. Everywhere LeBron goes he jettisons young talent for veterans. It won us a championship. I am not a LeBron hater. He put us in a terrible position for the future, but if that's the cost for a title, so be it. All day every day.

You take the BPA in the draft. Especially when you’re a bad team. I’m glad we didn’t reach. We can draft a wing next year. Never reach in the draft. We’ll have plenty of money next year. We can sign or trade for someone. There’s always guys willing to take the most money possible.

Young talent doesn’t always develop tho

You look at the young talent that Lebron potentially ever could have played with and you see the list never truly materialized to anything special. Maybe they develop better with limited roles with Lebron but who knows what happens to that talent when Lebron leaves.

After you have those big title runs by sports teams, you usually always see the team suffer for a few years after. Took the Bulls 4 years after Jordon to crack 20+ wins, Lakers have struggled ever since Kobe left until they got Lebron. Celtics had to do a complete rebuild after the big 3.

The young talent that Lebron Jettison was Wiggins and Waiters. Those guys never lived up to their potential, so moving them for pieces was the smart thing to do.

A minor trade up for Nassir Little would have been perfect.
