I'm not too surprised about this. I didn't think signing Mariotta to that contract meant that they couldn't go after Jimmy but I just don't get why they would want to make that move when they are clearly in a rebuilding/transition year. That team is devoid of talent and needs to stay the course and take a QB early in the draft next year or in 2024.

I agree and also who are the known 5 teams that called? Im calling B.S on this report.

Deebo would probably be willing to have 10 carries a game or whatever IF they also paid him as a top WR and RB. This is probably a negotiation ploy but I respect it. Do I see Deebo refusing to take carries in a must win game late in the regular season or in the postseason? Absolutely not, but he knows if he wants a second big contract, then that pounding he takes as a back to go along with his physical style is going to be a major issue.

Just get this done by next Wednesday or Thursday please.

Sooooooo, you’re saying he just may be the piece we needed?!?!  I’m excited!

When I saw the rumor of a former first rounder I gotta say I was hoping Oline.

Oh, the Cardinals have some former first rounder Oline busts available! Jonathan Cooper has been a free agent since 2018.

I doubt they see it thay way, and imo the "tank" approach doesn't work in the NFL. FO and coaching staffs are always on a short leash.. you have to establish a culture of winning and constant improvement. Bringing in a respected vet would go a long ways in developing Pitts/London as well.

Mariota always felt like a break glass in case of emergency signing, just so they had SOMEONE at QB. Remember they had the Watson deal done until Cleveland offered a fully guaranteed deal, and at the time SF was (stupidly) demanding way too much for an injured Jimmy. If the price is now a conditional 4th instead of 2 2nds they should jump on it.
