How so?  If the Saints lose next week (they play the Rams) and the Panthers win (they play the Jets), both teams will be 8-3 heading into Week 13. It isn't like they are 5-5 or something.  Past that, they would play the more than likely Rodgers-less Packers, Buccaneers, Falcons, and Vikings in a 4 game stretch that includes 3 home games.

But they do have a tougher road to a top 2 seed than the Vikes, Eagles, Rams, and Saints do they not? That's what I think this guy's saying at least. Panthers pretty much HAVE to beat us in NOLA to get a top 2 seed while the other teams (except Rams maybe) have easier roads.

The Vikings are better than the Saints. I didn't think they would do what they did to the Rams.

To be fair, they finally had some injury luck go their way this week, which is why they did what they did. Now, the Vikings were the better team today, and they would have likely won this game no matter what, but it wouldn't have been such a large margin.

Because you literally just had to start your reponse by saying "If" such and such happens. That already in itself signifies a tougher road ahead. On top of that the Saints already won head 2 head on the road, which means it's going to be a tougher environment for the Panthers to win in New Orleans.

I misread your post as saying they needed to do a lot to get back into contention in general rather being relative.  Regardless, it seems like you are making it seem like they just need all these different scenarios to happen.  They are only a game back.  If they played tomorrow and the Panthers won, we would hold the lead in the division through tiebreakers.

My point I think it is too early to limit the Super Bowl caliber teams in the NFC to the Vikings, Saints, and Philly.

I don't think it is that much tougher though.  Mainly because all the teams are playing each other these next couple of weeks.  Panthers have to beat the Vikings just as much as the Vikings have to beat the Panthers.  You say the Panthers have to beat the Saints to get the #2 seed but the same is true the other way around.  We would have a better divisional record otherwise.  Panthers have to win in Nola, Minnesota has to win in Carolina, Saints have to win in Los Angeles, etc.

All these teams have it tough coming up.

I mean... We are playing with a 3rd string QB, back-up RB's and one was a QB in college, backup RT, a center playing LG, pass rushing specialist out, and our QB of our defense (Sendejo) also out this game.

but thank god we got a break from a team missing a couple average defensive backs and a WR that went down in garbage time...

Those couple "average" defensive backs allowed the defense to hold your offense to 7 points through 3 quarters. We were stacking the box and playing to stop your running game. With all of that, your passing game wasn't lighting us up. Why? Because those couple "average" CBs were playing good football (despite Webster getting flagged a couple times). It's not a coincidence that Thielen suddenly went off when NRC and Webster were off the field. It's not a coincidence that you scored 17 in the 4th quarter after the injuries.

Now, as I said IN MY POST, injury luck went your way this week after not going your way for most of the year. Which is why you won't see me claiming we're the better team after that loss. But let's own what happened in that game.

Well... yeah... the Vikings are an average offense.

Sounds like some bad coaching, should of just put Johnson on Thielen.

Wade had a very bad day today, but if he put Johnson on Thielen, you would have just targeted Diggs. It would have ended in the same result.

Average offense or not, average CBs or not, the fact is that the margin of victory would have been very different without the injuries. I know the Vikings have dealt with injuries this year, but we don't have your depth.

It's coming for the Rams tho. Coaching, and the current starters you have, all you can do is go uphill.

I agree, but we're not there yet. Today was an example of the difference between a top team and a young team like the Rams. Our starters are good enough to compete, but we just don't have the guys behind them to rely on if we lose key starters.

You'll get back on track next week.
