Bears 53

Might as well get it started and adjust as we go:

QB:

1.  Fields

2.  *****

RB:

3.  Monty

4. Herbert

5. Khari Blasingame (fullback)

WR:

6. Mooney

7. Pringle

8. Jones

9. N'Keal

10. Sharpe

11. St. Brown

12. Pettis

TE:

13. Cole Kmet

14. Ryan Griffin

15. James O’Shaughnessy

OL:

16. Larry Borom,

17. Teven Jenkins,

18. Braxton Jones

19.  Lucas Patrick

20. Cody Whitehair

21. Sam Mustipher

22. Zachary Thomas

23. Doug Kramer

24. Julian Davenport

25. Lachavious Simmons

EDGE:

26. Al-Quadin Muhammad

27. Trevis Gipson

28. Dominique Robinson

29. Carson Taylor

30. Charles Snowden

You can see the OL and edge groups are too young and raw for us to be true competitors as it stands in this season.  But it is what we have.  I am assuming Quinn is eventually traded for whatever.  Probably a 4th a this point.  If a 3rd was on table it would probably be done by now.  Maybe it comes back online with a camp injury to a contender.

DL:

31. Justin Jones,

33.  Angelo Blackson,

34. Mario Edwards Jr.

35. Khyiris Tonga

36. Mike Pennel

LB:

37. Roquan Smith

38.Nicholas Morrow

39. Jack Sanborn

40. Noah Dawkins

CB:

41. Jaylon Johnson

42. Kyler Gordon

43. Thomas Graham Jr.

44. Kindle Vildor

45. Tavon Young

46. Duke Shelley

Safety:

47. Brisker

48. Jackson

49. DHC

50. Dane Cruikshank

51. K Santos

52. P Gill

53. LS Scales

Just quickly reading through it, I definitely think there will be three RBs along with the FB. Especially if they do run the ball more like a lot of people think they will.

Maybe.

Probably depends on who from groups is playing more special teams LBs or RBs or S’s or whoever on game day.   Emergency starting depth can be pulled up pretty easy from practice squad now.

I would only plan to play 2 best RBs and FB in any given game.  Teams are using WRs to function as a 3rd running back on game day now.  Probably Velus serves that function and has a small RB package installed.  He has basically already stated as much on Sick podcast.

The third RB, if not a returner, gunner or KO coverage guy he is a waste of game day space.  If someone goes down he is activated next game off PS to number 2.

That is what I was thinking.

I’d imagine we see Jones and possibly even Harry taking snaps out of the backfield.

Definitely no reason to have a 3rd RB active if have those packages in the playbook, as well as a FB.

Id bet we try to stash out “3rd RB” on the Practice Squad.

Right now I don't see 53 guys who are making the roster and expect to see 2-5 additions from other franchises when final cuts are made...

QB...Fields, Siemian

RB...Monty, Herbert, Ebner, Blasingame (FB)

WR...Mooney, Pringle, Velus, Harry, St. Brown, Pettis

TE...Kmet, Griffin, O'Shaughnessy

OT...Borom, Jones, Jenkins

G...Whitehair, Schofield, Thomas, Carter

C...Patrick, Kramer

DE...Quinn, Gipson, Muhammad, Robinson

DT...Jones, Blackson, Tonga, Edwards

LB...Roquan, Morrow, Adams, Johnson, Sanborn, Thomas

CB...Johnson, Gordon, Young, Graham Jr, Vildor

SS...Brisker, Cruikshank

FS...Jackson, DHC, Hicks

That gives us 48 outfield players...I expect to see a CB & DL added with the other two open spots...I would then expect to see real competition for Pettis, Sanborn/Thomas & Ebner's spots as we need more talent at WR & LB as well as the fact I reckon we will run the ball a lot and could use another true RB then find a spot for Ebner as a hybrid RB/WR/KR.

After what I saw in the first game and heard about in the second game it was a foregone conclusion.

Yeah, with how many vet depth WR options we brought in this offseason he always seemed set to have an uphill battle to make the squad. The drops and muffed punt probably only sped up the process for his eventual departure. That they didn’t keep him around to try to get him onto the practice squad suggests to me both that they don’t love his long term potential either and that they’ll be monitoring other teams’ final cuts to fill WR on the practice squad.

I think Dieter should make it.   Limited views, but from what I have seen I think Chase Allen should get strong consideration for top 3 TE.  At very least practice squad.

Elijah Hicks has had a lot of praise from beat reporters.
