Trojan
He's 24 and I remember many liking him a lot as a prospect. Washington was attempting to transition him from WR to TE this offseason.https://sports.yahoo.com/washington-commanders-2020-draft-pick-abruptly-retires-at-age-24-to-return-to-college-152928016.html Edited July 29, 2022 by Trojan

ET80
Returns to college? That makes me think he’s going to play CFB again, hahahaha.
kingseanjohn
I thought he'd be a good developmental/depth guy. Shame he never got a chance with a real team. He earned around 1.5mil though. Hopefully he's smart and didn't blow it all.

He might just play himself into being worth someone taking a chance on him with a late round flyer. This could be the beginning of something special. He may just have a future in the NFL. Now the question is at what position he'll excel most.

Trojan
You guys seriously forget prospects that fast? He was in the Jeudy/Lamb/Ruggs class. Those three were the obvious top 3, then Jefferson was pretty consensus WR4 (though many would have him over one of the top 3). Then Reagor/Aiyuk/Higgins/Pittman was the fringe 1st/2nd guys. Gandy Golden was pretty widely considered as a special developmental like Claypool. He would have been one of the popular A grade 4th round picks for athletic upside. That was a very special class super deep.

NCAA players can get endorsements and stuff, why can't this guy complete any eligibility that he has left?

Don't WAS keep his rights in the NFL, if he ever decides to have a 2nd shot?

I think it’s less endorsements and money, more about hiring an agent to represent you at a pro level. But, I have no clue nowadays. (Brady to Michigan next season to earn his PhD and win Harbaugh a Natty, comfirmed).

What I was really hoping for was an Aaron Rodgers return to Cal the year after he retires, only for Brett Favre to enroll at UCLA to try to stop him from winning it all.
