The BEST in the league at each position

  • QB: Mahomes (Chiefs)
  • RB: Henry (Titans - when healthy)
  • FB: If anyone says they can name 5 starting FBs off the top of the dome without looking then they're lying to you.
  • WR: Adams (Raiders)
  • TE: Kelce (KC)
  • LT: Trent (49ers)
  • LG: Nelson (Colts)
  • C : Kelce (Philly)
  • RG: Martin (Cowboys)
  • RT: Wirfs (Was)

I'm gonna switch the defensive positions up a bit due for the obvious differences in 3-4 and 4-3 and combine the safeties.

  • EDGE: Watt (Pitt)
  • IDL: DOnald (Rams)
  • OLB (4-3): Leonard (Colts)
  • ILB: Bobby Wagner (Rams)
  • CB: Ramsey (Rams)
  • S: James (LAC -- when healthy)

  • K: Tucker (Ravens)
  • P: Hekker (Panthers)
  • Returner: Patterson (Falcons)

Some of these of are so close that it ultimately comes down to personal preference. I went back and forth with myself a few times.

  • QB: Patrick Mahomes
  • RB: Jonathan Taylor
  • FB: Kyle Juszczyk
  • WR: Davante Adams
  • TE: Travis Kelce
  • LT: Trent Williams
  • LG: Quenton Nelson
  • C : Creed Humphrey
  • RG: Zach Martin
  • RT: Tristan Wirfs

  • EDGE: T.J. Watt (I'd rather do it this way than as listed in OP)
  • DT: Aaron Donald
  • LB: Darius Leonard
  • CB: Jalen Ramsey
  • FS: Jessie Bates III (I thought about Byard here, but Bates's run in the postseason was the most impact any S had in the league last year, IMO, and I think he continues that run)
  • SS: Derwin James (only if we throw health out the window)

  • K: Justin Tucker
  • P: A.J. Cole (at least it was last year. I won't pretend to actually be able to judge this long term)
  • Returner: Braxton Berrios

  • HC: Bill Belichick
  • OC: Kellen Moore (I don't actually love this pick, but with so many OCs getting promoted these days, I actually think this spot is kind of weak league-wide right now)
  • DC: Leslie Frazier (would've gone Bowles before the promotion)
  • STC: Dave Toub

The one Bengal player who actually would have a chance is Reader at NT.  I consider it a different position than pass rushing DT/3t.  I bring it up since the OP split the safety spots.

QB Mahomes

RB Taylor

WR Adams

TE Kelce

OT Trent Williams

OG  Nelson

C  ???

DE Garrett

DT Donald

NT Reader

Edge Watt

LB Leonard

CB Ramsey

SS James

FS Byard/Bates kinda even for me

K Tucker

P  no opinion

Returner  Patterson

Super open to being behind the eight ball on this one because I love me some Derwin James, but he’s always struck me as a guy knocking on the door more so than being the top guy?

Hard for me to pick anyone but Poyer, unless we’re projecting, then I can see why people would lean James. But Poyer allowed what, like a 13 passer rating last year? No TDs in 500+ consecutive coverage snaps. Tackles, TFLs, sacks, interceptions, I don’t know what else you could ask for.

EDIT: At least as it pertains to the SS spot. If you’re doing safety as a single spot then you could argue Byard, Hyde, and a few others in there.

I need a list of who is a SS and who is a FS
