That's an underwhelming return IMO.

Dont the Brewers have another really good relief pitcher? I dont follow them too closely so dont have a name but perhaps that guy's the reason Hader's being shown the door.

Yeah and he’s much better

Yup. Here's Hader's ticket out of town.....

Joel Sherman -   Devin Williams last gave up an earned run on May 10. Since then: 30 games, 28.2IP, zero runs. .115 BA against. 8 BBs, 47 Ks. He likely becomes Brewers new closer with Hader going to SD.

I mean you only got the Padres #8 and #9 and their closer who just lost his job.

They must think he's broken, but man if that was the case you should've dealt him earlier while his value was at peak.

Can’t disagree there, but it came on suddenly. Brewers will be fine with Williams closing games, he’s filthy.

No doubt. They won't miss a beat with Williams stepping in at closer (probably will loose something with the 8th inning though).

However, I'd be more concerned about what message you're sending your team who is in the middle of a pennant race. You're basically sending the message that club isn't good enough to win now (unless they make another move, which is very plausible). Just odd timing to be a seller IMO.

However, I get it with them being a small market club. These are the tough decisions that are faced.

Idk i guess i don’t see this as too much of a seller type move. Hader has an over 5 era in his last 30 games, over 9 in his last 15 and close to 17 in his last 7 games. He’s been hurting them. At least from what I’ve seen. I don’t watch every Brewer’s game and i know those are inflated over a couple of big implosions, but he’s struggled, obviously.
