mdonnelly21
I think you can argue all these players as a top 5 player of all time
AkronsWitness
1) Peyton - He plays the hardest position, so that puts him above others for me. Its harder to be as great as Peyton was at QB than it is for any of the other guys on this list to be as great as they were at their other positions......if that makes sense 2) Taylor - The defensive GOAT 3) Brown - The most dominant player ever 4) White - Best pass rusher ever 5) Rice - Best receiver ever Edited August 2, 2022 by AkronsWitness
AngusMcFife
I think the 4 best are, in no particularly order: LT, Rice, Jim Brown, Reggie White They are all perfect players. All the other ones listed I could find some slight hole in their game. I do wonder if Deacon Jones should be on your list ahead of Joe Greene, though.
seminoles1
I don't understand how you compare a QB to a DT. These GOAT lists that don't distinguish positions are crazy.

I tried to stay away from the much older generation. I know I included JB so yeah

Hunter2_1
1. LT 2. Rice 3. Brown 4. Manning 5. White Relatively, considering the positional variance

SkippyX
Reggie started his career with 137 sacks in his first 137 games. Taylor was 124 sacks in 142 games. Reggie finished his career #1 all time at 0.85 sacks per game. Gastineau was 2nd at 0.83 Taylor was 3rd at 0.79. Both guys did way more than just pass rush. Both guys are clear and obvious top 10 players and 100 Madden rating in my book. Its fair to put Reggie ahead slightly and at #1 as a pass rusher and its also fair to argue the point since the starts are close. TJ Watt and Myles Garrett are technically both ahead of them now but its easier when you are still in your 20s. Neither are at Reggie's 1.0 through his first year in Green Bay. FYI, the Giants had the chance to draft Reggie in the USFL supplemental draft. Imagine Parcells and Belichick with both of those guys. SkippyX
Both guys also killed the run game and while Reggie was a monster at DT when needed, Taylor could drop into coverage on backs and TEs and even in a deep zone sometimes. Both guys were insanely good. I watched them both eat QBs through the 80's (I just enjoyed it less when Taylor was eating Jaws and Randall) If you want more respect for Aikman, watch some of the beatings he took from both teams. On 9/15/1991 the Eagles got to him 11 times. I'm not sure he felt like he was 17 months from his first SB. Troy passed for 112 yards and lost 67 on sacks.
