rfournier103
I posted this in the Patriots board, but I think it’s worth getting the thoughts of football fans in general… Simple and straightforward: will Bill Belichick’s job be in danger if the Patriots post a losing record this season or another humiliating playoff blowout in the first round? Bob Kraft has said publicly that he’s disappointed that the Patriots haven’t won a playoff game since February 2019. I think that if the Patriots don’t build on last year, or even regress, the Krafts will probably discuss it. Thoughts?
Popular Post Calamity_Cometh
Bill will be dead before he has lost enough to warrant a termination. He'd have to literally kill someone.
MWil23
Dude has 6 rings and 3 runner up finishes on top of AFC Title runs. Zero chance unless it’s a legal issue.
OkeyDoke21
No, at least he shouldn't be. He's coming off a playoff season with a rookie qb. It should take an absolute dumpster fire, where Bill is a pretty clear cause, for him to be on the hot seat, imo. He should be employed on basically his terms for a few more years. Dome
I would fire him if I was Robert Kraft… I think becoming a DC in New Orleans to rebrand himself would be ideal for him
Rockice_8
He'd never be fired but I could see a mutual parting of ways. BB may take another year or two and see what he can do with this current NE team which by all accounts would be a great coaching job if he could drag them to meaningful games with the current talent level. He's in his 70's now and likely won't be coaching much longer. Could he jump to LAC, DAL, or CLE if their current HCs struggle to elevate their talent? Maybe. If he doesn't want to do that I could see 2-3 years and then maybe hanging them up but who know he seems like a guy who'd lose his mind retiring. Phinsesq
He shouldn't be, but If Kraft is a fool, then yes.
Daniel
Lolno. If anyone says otherwise, you can disregard their football opinions. Now, if he has a losing season two years in a row, then absolutely he'll be on the hot seat. But that's what it'll take.
seminoles1
No, not after one season. We had a long thread about this last year. Any coach can underwhelm enough to be pushed out. It just depends on how much patience the decision maker has for how long that takes.
KingOfNewYork
I wonder if he’d ever go somewhere else and try to recreate what he built in New England or he is too old to start fresh.

Meh, I think even if he goes 8-9 two seasons in a row, then entering that third season, he is on the hot seat. That fanbase loses its mind when they don't make a deep playoff run. Two losing seasons in a row and everyone will want his head. Owner is probably a lot more patient, but I think the hot seat is defined as being in danger of being fired. Belichick loses three seasons in a row, even he's fired and we hear the narrative that 'the game passed him by' or something.
Soko
Bill will coach in NE for as long as he wants to. Guy makes the playoffs with a rookie QB and yeah it was a whooping, but it was also a transitioning year and against what many consider the first or second best roster in football. Hell, the team’s still transitioning as it’s lost/is about to lose some defensive staples from those championship teams. Gimme a break. I’m sure there will be some dummies in Boston that think the team needs a younger, fresher voice in NE. Pay them no mind.
