indifference
White has the goods Like his running ability + return ability .. just a smooth glider like Kamara Not sold on Trask as the QBOTF..not even tripping about the INT just don’t like what I see from him under duress. His ability to maneuver around while the pocket collapses is Mike Glennon level bad. Dude is in quick sand Need someone back there in this day an age to be able to be mobile. Too much of a statue. JTS might surprise some folks this year. (Non-Tampa fans) Scooter is a keeper, gladly have that guy as #

BucsDraftGeek47
Man that one seemed rough Didn't get to watch because of an anniversary dinner but the scoreline & box score didn't indicate many positives

He may develop into a back up level QB some day but watching him live in practice and over this preseason - he just doesn't look comfortable out there nor shows command of an offense. He also doesn't have the velocity on throws that screams starting QB. It kind of concerns me that Arians and Licht stated he was better than any QB they evaluated in the 2022 Draft class bc they all look more comfortable and competent in they same circumstances. I will say I was a believer in his Gators tape But I don't think I'm a believer anymore He took a while to develop in college so maybe that's the case? Or maybe BAs offense just isn't easy for young qbs and that's why Trask is struggling so much. BA did help bring up Big Ben and Andrew Luck, but there aren't many of those every draft. Either way, as of rn, we definitely still need to draft a qb early next year

My long held belief is that drafting a “developmental” QB is largely a waste of a roster spot. Any Offensive lineman, RB, WR, CB LB will help you more than the QB you stash for 3 years and hope he becomes a starter down the line. They won a title, and heading into that draft they had no real obvious/glaring holes so they could afford to do a luxury pick like that but I never saw it with Trask. I'm not against taking a developmental project at QB but only if they possess the tools that contain good athleticism and good arm strength but needs some fine tuning in their skill set and footwork. Trask didn't come off with a huge arm and had questionable accuracy and decision making. His physical talent wasnt through the roof. Someone like Malik Willis who was oozing with physical talent but was not ready to play bc he's behind in terms of level of competition and pocket game - I'd surely take as a project in round 2/3. Trask's skill set was more on par with career backup. To be honest - Davis Mills should have been that developmental project we took in round 2, not Trash. Mills had a live arm, very smart and sneaky good athleticism. His problem was limited film due to injuries and covid. But was considered a talented QB in college recruiting ranks. I'm not saying he's Houston;s answer lol but he clearly has shown he belongs in this league in atleast a back up role, maybe more.

Either way, as of rn, we definitely still need to draft a qb early next year BA helped develop and bring up Ben and Luck - but he didn't scout them or draft them as a HC. I remember him saying in 2014 - when he passed on Derek Carr and Garroppolo and Bridgewater as potential successors to Palmer - He viewed Bortles as the main QB worth a first rounder in that draft. Before Bridgewater came down with that injury - he was playing well as the starter in Minny. And Garropolo and Carr are sure fire starters in this league. Makes me wonder what BA really looks for at QB. I can't say I dug deep into Trask's junior year tape and watched some games of him as a Senior. What really caught my eye was watching JT O'sullivans draft analysis on all the QB's in the 2021 draft. Trask's flaws were really about bad timing - leading WR's out of bounds, and poor footwork and didn't have the arm strength to make up for it. Overall, he was basically deemed average QB who might succeed as a backup. O'Sullivan has really dug deep into the draft analysis gig. He even was suspect of why Zack Wilson was considred the #2 overall pick as he pointed out poor field vision and inconsistent reads. His arm strength clearly got him drafted in the top 3 so GM's have not learned their lesson.
djw4bucs
I still want to see trask in a real game before we give up on him. I dont think he played good last game but the WRs and OL didnt do him any favors. Gimme some time with the starters then we will actually see how good or bad he is. Kenny Pickett and Malik Willis out there with 2nd and 3rd stringers and heck, Picketts first team OL is in dire scraps compared to what the 3rd unit is and he's fine. If the organization Truly believed Trask was better than any QB in the 2022 draft - I certainly would like to know what they were basing it off of. Bc he looks very behind for a 2nd round pick to not even earn the back up duties once again. Leftwich defending him saying (paraphrasing) - Any QB will look bad compared to Brady. But the real question is : Why can't he even beat out Blaine? And its clearly obvious who's better and that's a step backwards for Trask.
