This. We also need to really consider the fact that if new ownership is in place by the draft, they may not want to go QB this season because Ron will be on a shortened leash. This benefits Howell so much since he's already here. The only way I could see it otherwise is if they swing for the fences on something huge like moving up big time but that would cost a kings ransom. I am not the biggest Stroud fan in the world but if they traded up for him, I think he could work out well.

You can't go with a project like Richardson in the first round. Not this year with a shaky coaching staff rife with uncertainty.

I'm half joking but I think the way Ohio St. QBs have worked out recently, RIchardson might be as much of a project as Stroud.

AR needs so much work. You can't let this staff pick him. He'd immediately go from one OC to another after Rivera goes. I think it would be horrible for a guy who is far away from starting at the next level to be drafted by us.

Take a look at Jalen Hurts who endured a coaching change early on. It's not impossible to succeed in that situation. I'm not pounding on the table to draft AR but he's still on my short list and I'm not gonna write him off this early in the process.

Honestly I don't want Rivera to draft anyone. You could say that anyone he drafts will be put in a changing situation with a new coach after RR is gone

At the 16th Pick,

These are things and players I would consider on which way we go in the first rd.

Brian Robinson’s health moving forward mean a Bijan Robinson pick.

Trade out to build draft capital for a pick for next year’s quarterback?

Michael Mayer worth the first round pick?

Broderick Jones worth the first round pick?

O’Cyrus Torrence worth the first round pick?

I think if we want to improve the running game we'd be better served using this pick on an offensive lineman.

This wouldn't be a bad idea IMO.  But I doubt the current staff would be down for that.

My opinion is no.

I would be down for either of these.

I love the OL you mentioned. Robinson and Mayer would be the best players avalible if they were either way because they are special talents at their positions. That said Knight hit it that the running game could be greatly improved just by fixing the OL. That said BPA I’d have to take either more then likely but I haven’t finished grading so if a OL is avalible with a close enough grade it wouldn’t be a reach because the need would match the BPA grade.

I’d be cool with moving out of the first for next year even if Howell proved worthy or didn’t because you could move up for a QB or Bowers Harrison or King the Penn St CB who I am super super high on. Next years class has as of right now truely special talents at a bunch of spots that are premier positions and I’d be cool with a move out. But I doubt Ron would do that unless he had owners word he was safe for the duration of his deal he’s currently on or extended when team is bought which I doubt happens without Owner gauging the state of the team within the facilities.

So I’m basically at the point where if Mayer, Paris Johnson/Skoranski or Bijan Robinson are available I’m probably picking one of them. If not, I’m trading down if the opportunity presents itself. This draft has a ton of good corners but no real elite guy so you can still get great value at the position in the second and third. Maybe you can drop down to the end of the first or top of the second and still get Torrence. But this is a draft where I’d have no issue moving down. Outside of the top 3 plus Mayer and Bijan Robinson I don’t think there’s much elite talent at all really.

My logic has always been that you address needs in FA and go BPA (to an extent) in the draft. So I wouldn't mind a Bingham Robinson or Mayer pick, or even Anthony Richardson if they feel like he can compete with Howell. What I do not want is a massive trade up to get a QB that ends up leaving us with no picks and no depth at positions. We saw this season how lack of depth at LB, OL, and CB really hurt us.

I'm not going to get into the draft discussion, until I see what happens with ownership.

What's the point?

I'm of the belief, that new ownership will be here in a month. All staff will be relieved of their duties & the discussion will be what coaches were bringing in.

I'm expecting a VERY aggressive FA, so that will probably shape up what we might be targeting in the draft & mainly 1st Rd.

And what coaches we bring in, will probably shape what type of team we're building.

This coaching staff has to go, imo. They are chasing their tail & don't seem to have any clue what's best for the team regarding the QB situation.

I'm only hoping we get a new owner, before Rivera & staff can screw the team up too much.

I have zero confidence in their abilities to make sound decisions regarding this team.

Keeping my 🤞 crossed.

Definitely someone we need to do our due diligence on. I know it didn't work out with Antonio Golden Gandy but if we drafted every single local UMD/UVA/Virginia Tech player over the years, this team would be stacked.

This is the guy behind Georgia’s tackle. By the end of the process he’s going to go around our pick. He reminds me in college of Darrisaw
