MikeT14
I can't stop reading it as Richard Wildgoose instead of Rachad Wildgoose. I don't know why.

All I know is he’s got me on a while goose hunt trying to figure out who he is! I just can’t get over this LB & CB depth and how Rivera, Mayhew & JDR have allowed it to come to this. But, maybe we’ll be ok. All we can do is pray. You know what, after looking him up, I really can’t complain to much about the Rachad Wildgoose signing. It definitely seems there’s some upside there just like there is with Christian Holmes & Tariq Castro-Fields but, I’d be lying if I wasn’t concerned about our CB depth after Fuller, WJ3 & Juice. I understand having one rookie late round CB/UDFA type that we’re developing as our 6th guy but 3 & that’s your main depth is a concern. Christian Holmes looked lost at times this preseason & QBs targeted him often from what I saw. I don’t think he’s ready to be our #4 CB. My guess/hope is for week 1 our depth chart will look like this and then for week 2 we’ll sign a veteran. Remember that veterans contracts are guaranteed for the year if they’re on a roster week 1. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/rachad-wildgoose/32005749-4c04-7202-2f39-a2f7aa33f5cc “Wildgoose has adequate foot agility and can grind on slower wideouts [I’m sorry what?] 😂 over the first five yards, but lacks the makeup speed and length to recover from early missteps in his coverage. It is easy to see his physicality throughout the route and he could become more impactful from press with more work. He's quick to crowd and body the receiver but fails to trust his technique, resulting in too many penalties over the course of his career. His lack of fluid transitions could make him a sitting duck in off-man, so he's better suited for zone or bump-and-run schemes as he tries to find a team fit as a likely undrafted free agent. Strengths Feet for early mirror of release. Gives out rough rides for the first five yards. Quick to close distance on receiver early in route. Extremely physical and flusters the catch space. Reads eyes and times his scrapes. Displays adequate feel for route from trail. Short-area stickiness to hound the comeback route. Improvement in run defense from 2018 to 2019. MikeT14
Jacksonville takes this as they go up early and we chase the rest of the game. Come close but short. 24-23 Jacksonville.

ripsean21
I believe our defense will bleed yards get a timely TO and hold them when it matters. I also think our offense comes out fast and get us up enough. That said The Jags will flash moments because they have lots of young talent. But I think our leaders make the difference. I think our top pick opens the scoring up this season as well

A functional coach that Rivera beat twice in 2020 might I remind you. Is everyone forgetting that Rivera out coached Pederson twice in 2020? And, his QBs were Dwayne Haskins in week 1 & a one legged Alex Smith in week 17. Our QB is better now, we have better weapons on offense. We should win this game. Saying Trevor Lawrence is a “generational talent” is like saying Chase Young is a “generational talent.” It May or May not be true, each guy has a hell of a lot to prove based off their inconsistent play last year. I trust Jamin to cover Travis Eitenne. It’s gone unnoticed bc it’s not a splash play but Jamin has covered RBs well out of the backfield - even last year. Not saying we’re going to be dominant or anything, but I don’t expect our secondary to get picked apart like the first month of last year where communication was a huge issue.
