He's not being left out to dry if he's playing. They obviously are putting time in with him. I would like to see him in a 4-3 defense on the outside. That would mean Del Rio would have to get out of that 2 LB scheme. It's not all on Davis, it's all on Rivera. He's Coach and GM at the end of the day.

He’s playing in the 4-3 he plays outside in our D. He plays outside on one side & our 3rd safety plays outside on the other side.

Very good question. I think overall the Eagles top to bottom have a more talented team, and that's a knock on the front office and coaching staff for not bringing more guys in (I already agreed with you on that). If Jalen Hurts plays well, they have a chance of winning the NFC, not just the East. Cowboys are lacking weapons and are going to really struggle without Dak. Giants aren't good imo. There's no reason we shouldn't be top 2 in the division, with a chance to win if Hurts struggles. If Hurts plays well I don't foresee us winning the division but like our chances of getting a wild card and losing in the first round of playoffs.

Week 3 will be a lot more interesting now.

I want to see him in a normal 4-3 or you can stay playing him like he is now and keep getting the same results, A Busted 1st round pick.

I don’t get your gripe, he’s being played how you want him to be played, the OLB gets matched up on RBs, TEs & sometimes Slot WRs. This is the NFL now. Most Teams don’t run traditional NFL offenses that historically had a TE & a FB or 2 TEs the way Gibbs used to run his offense.

Therefore to match up with 3 WR sets & TEs split out wide - which is 70% or more of the game most weeks vs most offenses - you need to have 5 DBs on the field that often. That’s why we run the Buffalo nickel on run downs often or we are in the regular nickel w/ Juice in the slot.

I don't get your grip on continuing to play him the way they are when it's obviously not working. A regular 4-3 Defense isn't what We run, maybe they need too!

The only way he’s going to improve - if he does - is to play him. They did him & the future of the D a disservice last year by playing Mayo over him on run downs last Nov & Dec. Only way he’s going to diagnose/process & play faster is if he’s out there doing it. He’s improved over last year, we just need to see him keep progressing.

Most teams don’t spend that much time in their base defense anymore. The league has become so specialized in a sense that the defense most teams use involve five DBs in some capacity…..to counter most teams trotting out three WRs in their base offense.
