BayRaider
Offered Wilson to Browns, Browns declined: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10047971-nfl-rumors-russell-wilson-offered-in-trade-to-browns-in-2018-for-no-1-draft-pick Seahawks GM interest in Josh Allen, Patrick Mahones: https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/10047975-espn-russell-wilsons-camp-pissed-over-seahawks-interest-in-mahomes-josh-allen.amp.html This fuels the Monday Night game and makes it even juicier. Wilson likely obliterates them to epic proportions. Also, can we talk about how dumb the Browns are? They took Baker Mayfield over Russell Wilson completely in his prime and Josh Allen. Seahawks GM would have selected Josh Allen with the #1 pick.

And then ended up trading a thousand picks for DeShaun Watson. Wow. Edited September 7, 2022 by JohnChimpo

It’s the Browns. Sounds like Seattle really loved Allen and wanted to save money.

More credit to Allen than anything because he was shaky his first two seasons.

Jakuvious
It sure is something how many teams have claimed to have been considering Patrick Mahomes after he became, you know, Patrick Mahomes.

MWil23
I’m pretty sure that it’s legitimately the opposite. The Browns offered the #1 pick for Wilson and were turned down flat. Seattle then denied the rumor but now apparently confirmed it but then spun it the other way. Hilarious.

And that’s literally why the contract he signed included a no trade clause because his wife didn’t want to go to Cleveland. Just says Cleveland and Seattle had discussions. I have no stake in this btw. But the article and the source says nothing about Cleveland being the initiators. It’s like that time Bill Polian claimed he had a first round grade on Tom Brady. Sure, Bill. Sure you did.
