Might be more indicative of the scheme change, and having players that didn’t exact fit our new scheme (good/avg players who fit different/original schemes better)

I disagree, Wyatt Davis, Davidson, Smith-Marsette, Mond, Watts, Robinson were not cut because of a scheme change and all fit the scheme find outside of maybe Mond.  Sure some were but still they were again signed to other teams which is not that common in recent years.  Possibly it was the new organization and management did not like those guys as players coming out in the draft two or three years ago and they were not their guys so they let them go, being Wyatt Davis, Surratt, Davidson, Smith-Marsette, Mond etc.

Still that CB room is an issue especially if Booth stays injured and Dantzler already got hurt a bit game one.  Peterson is so so, Evans is ok and Sullivan did not give up any big plays but still down the road it will be an issue if these injuries stay.

At least they got Shelley and Gowan on the practice squad but still I feel it will be a problem.  Also surprising Cine did not start but good for Bynum and he did well I thought.  Sure Harrison hates the role he is in but he is a pro.

So you think there is no chance they beat the Vikings this weekend?  Minnesota could easily struggle against that OL getting a rush, could struggle against that run game or against AJ Brown and Goedert in the passing game.  And on D Phili is not a push over either but will see what happens.  On Paper the Eagles are EASILY a top five team in the NFC if not right up there at #1 or #2 looking at the roster outside of the QB who continues to improve and has improved weapons greatly off last year.

I never said they couldn't win this weekend.  They are playing at home.  That will be a huge advantage for them.  All I'm saying is that they aren't nearly as good as people seem to think they are.  In a weak division in a weak conference, they are made to look better than they are.  They are nowhere near #2 in the NFC...I even struggle to put them in the top 5, as I'd take GB, Min, LA, TB and SF above them fairly easily when you factor in both talent and coaching staff together.  I put them basically in the same category as I put Arizona in that 6-7 range.  Based on their schedule, they might end up with the 2nd best record, but they are nowhere near the 2nd best team.

John Breech, CBS Sports: "I was so impressed with the Vikings in Week 1 that I've already decided that I won't be picking against them for the rest of the month, so obviously, that means I have to take them here. Also, I can't pick the Eagles because this is Week 2 and they burn me every year in Week 2. I'm not even kidding. The Eagles are somehow 0-5 both straight up and against the spread in Week 2 over the past five years. Maybe they should start asking to get their bye in Week 2."

I would hold the roll on that one.

The Packers were without two of the best offensive lineman in the NFL for one, inexperienced group blocking for Rodgers and they still ran the ball easily and honestly should have ran it more.  Probably over confident as well with how effective the defense was last year, especially with Alexander back now.  Also they did not know what the Vikings scheme was like and clearly were taken by surprise in how the offense ran and what plays they ran.

Also the Vikings have Packer coaches on the team, defensive coaches especially that LB coach who knows that Packers system and the weaknesses of it in that matchup zone.  That helped the Vikings greatly game plan.

Also the Packers are lead by a jackass who clearly is alienating his receivers and not giving them confidence, even the vet Sammy Watkins look like he wanted the hell out of there with this deer in the headlights look.  So the guy is a nut, always been a jerk, then last year he becomes Mr Nice guy yoga cleanse and now back to Jerk because Adams left for Las Vegas....

So how the Vikings look against the Eagles will say a lot because the Eagles have one of the best rosters in football.

I still have no belief in the Eagles and think they are the most over-hyped team in the entire NFL.

I have absolutely no concerns about Philly.  As I've also said a lot recently, I have no belief in them.  I think they're frauds.

O'Connell:"Obviously, a huge week for us. A big opportunity to go to a really tough environment and really a true first test with going on the road. They're playing really good football right now, really tough outfit in all three phases, so we've got to have a great, great week of preparation and making sure we're ready to go, handling some different aspects of the plan this week from the noise to obviously, just in general not being in your home environment, so it will be big for our guys."

"If you've built it the right way, it's one of those things where I like to think that our offense is evolving week to week, where it's not so much the plays and the philosophy, but it's the execution level of what we're asking our players to do. It's on us to give them a clear plan so when they do execute what we ask them to do well, good things happen. But as always, it's about the process leading up to that and then ultimately, how do we respond if the result isn't exactly what we wanted."

Vikings Special Teams Coach Matt Daniels noted that due to the location and build of Lincoln Financial Field, "swirling winds" make it "really, really tough" for specialists. Fortunately, Vikings kicker Greg Joseph has gotten ample outdoor practice at Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center, which also tends to be somewhat of a wind tunnel most days.

Daniels: "We've had a couple of windy days this week, so Greg can kind of get used to kicking in that wind, because he hasn't kicked in Lincoln Financial, either. So just giving him little tidbits on what to expect there, which way the winds typically blow, what the yard lines might look like as far as talking max distances. Me being able to communicate that to [Head Coach Kevin O'Connell] once the game rolls around and we're in those last 2-minute situations of the game or end of half. Understanding the situation of, 'OK, the line going this way is 30 versus going the opposite way is 35, 40 yards.' "

In addition to being buttoned up with their specialists in regards to the elements, the Vikings will need to be ready for Eagles punter Arryn Siposs, a native of Melbourne, Australia. The Vikings are quite familiar with Australian punters, having had Jordan Berry last season and part of the 2022 preseason, and Daniels said they tend to have a different playing style – which could be even more difficult to navigate in the outdoor setting.

Daniels: "A lot of them hit the end-over-end balls, which is kind of like the kickoff balls, that you have to be ready for,"   The operation time is a lot faster, too, rather than a traditional punter. We have to prepare even in our rush schemes of being a little bit more aggressive in how we attack the rushes because the op time is a lot faster, a lot quicker, beating the ball to the spot. [It] doesn't have as much hangtime as a traditional ball does.

"We've kind of been working with Jalen Reagor on, let's say he's on the left hash, maybe work to the right sideline to catch those balls going to his right. We just have to make sure we're good beating the ball to the spot, having the understanding of seeing it off the foot. [Siposs can] hit those end-over-end balls, but also those spiral balls. Being able to see it off the foot helps us determine where the downturn and where the nose is going to be coming down in terms of placement of the ball."
