TheRealMcCoy Posted September 12, 2022 Share Posted September 12, 2022 I was planning on us cutting him after this year. I didn't understand why we gave him a 2 year deal. Going into next year we would have had no dead cap hit if we traded him or only 1.5 million dead cap hit if we just straight up released him. But, now that he's injured and won't be healthy before March of next year when the new league year starts I think he has 2 million in injury guarantees, so it would cost 3.5 million dead cap to release him. We could still release him next year, but we would only get 5 million in space instead of 7 million. He was also due a million in roster bonuses for this year for games played. He only played in one, so I don't know if that means he only sees like 58k of that million? Either way our traditional DE depth is lacking. Can't wait to draft one next year.
