Whataboutery.

Mac has regressed. But at least he's shown signs of being able to play the position.

In a thread about Zach, Mac, and Tua, it's not whataboutery.

Mac Jones looked every bit as bad as Zach yesterday, except his biggest goof was saved by a tick-tacky RTP penalty.

You quoted an opinion about Wilson, instead of addressing it all, it was what about Mac, he's terrible too. The very definition of whataboutery.

Ah, the ref's fault, of course.  So Zach being 0-3 with 2 TDs and 7 Int against the Pats is because of the refs.

😂

And Mac Jones has been stunning!

Mac isn’t great at all but part of it is the training wheels coming off and his team as a whole regressing talent wise. He still has probably a year left to prove it. New England needs to beef up the line and get him a real receiving threat to see imo.

Wilson is in fact the absolute drizzling ****s and there is no doubt about that now. The Jets would be best served to cut bait with him now and plan a transition because there’s not even potential there.

Mac at least has some touch and has shown the capability to make decent reads. His biggest issue right now is pocket presence. Which ironically is the biggest strength Zappe has. Mac is clearly never comfortable in the pocket, doesn’t sense pressure at all, and gets flustered as soon as it’s near him. To be honest if you kept Mac as is and gave him Zappe’s pocket presence and footwork he’d be about average. Right now he’s below average.

Wilson is objectively worse. He’s the worst QB in the class by healthy margin and possibly the worst starter in the league.

I’m not sold on Mac and if the right prospect is in reach the Pats should go for it and make him fight for his job. But he’s nowhere near Wilson bad.

It's clearly Tua > Mac > Wilson.

Wilson doesn't belong on an NFL field. Mac is serviceable with the right system and pieces around him, but nothing special and is not going to win you games by himself. Tua is a slightly above-average starter who is good enough to get the ball to the best receiving duo you've ever seen in a system specifically designed for them to wreak havoc

Because this is a comparison thread and you only posted about one person. I posted about the other. That's how comparisons are made.

And Zach's performance against the Pats doesn't make Mac any better, like the RTP doesn't make Mac's decision to throw a pick 6 any better.

Disingenuous again.

I'm more worried about facing Joe than Wilson.

Wilson spotted us like 17 points last season. Took the pressure right off.

As for Tua - I see he got a bump from this week. I would strongly predict he never sees WRs that open again. They were wide-*** open, it was incredible. Ravens scared to death. Tua played brilliant, don't get me wrong. But it must have felt like college to him.

And I'm also concerned with Mac big time, before I get the salty pats comments. I like him, but I don't see it right now

Could have responded to this one.

You just got salty that someone said Zach wasn't good, and you wanted to hit back. Own it baby.

This is the correct take.

If the Jets franchise had to bet their entire future on Wilson or Jones figuring it out and being a serviceable QB, even if it’s not the best bet…. they 100% would try to run with Mac Jones over Wilson right now. As would any sane franchise if given the options.

Wilson is objectively becoming a godawful first round prospect with a floor about as low it can go and a ceiling that every day is becoming apparently lower than it was given credit for.

Both things can be true. We are comparing 3 QBs. You say "Zach bad", I say "Well, Mac bad too", and now we have a comparison.

But that’s misleading.  It’s more like this…..

Jones: very mediocre

Wilson: burn it with fire bad

The Jets would have won yesterday if Wilson played as mediocre Mac Jones. The Patriots won almost entirely because Wilson is that awful. And I’d say he deserved the game ball from Belichick but he’d probably throw it right back to McCourty
