Look for both teams to try to win the battle at the LOS, Browns have a dynamic run game that will test the Steelers defense.

Honeymoon is over for Mitch and he is beginning to see how hard it is to play QB in Pittsburgh post Big Ben. Is he capable of being more than a game manager?  Can he lead this team?  It is early, but he heard the first of many Kenny, Kenny chants this past Sunday.

Matt Canada has taken his share of criticism for play calling and offensive scheme. However, I believe the loss to New England was more that the Patriots players made more key plays than the Steelers. The offense had open receivers. The OL gave Mitch time on several throws.  The OL even opened a few holes in the run game. The players didn't put it all together. A muffed punt, a poorly timed jump ball before the half, a dropped interception, no consistent pass rush, and a worn down defense led to a close loss.

This game will come down to the same things:

1. Stop the two headed rushing and receiving attack of Chubb & Hunt

2. Don't lose the turnover battle

3. Don't keep the defense on the field 55%-60% of the game

4. Limit mistakes in all three phases. Just not good enough to not beat yourselves right now.

5. Increase offensive efficiency. Steelers have to do better than an average of 4 yards a pass completion

6. Make more plays than they do. No Watt, someone else has to step up besides just Minkah. Cam and Alex got extra attention from the Patriots.

Minkah is quietly showing that he is gong to challenge for DPOY honors in 2022.

The loss of Watt was evident in the pass rush and overall defensive presence.

These two are licking their chops and salivating to get at the Steelers run defense.

The Steelers OL will face one of the best defenders in the NFL.  He will be coming after Mitch.

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is no joke. He could be an x factor for the Browns defense this game.

Bottom line: Division rival, on the road, prime time, and a hot and cold Steelers team with an offense trying to find its identity.  This has been the same script and song and dance for the Steelers since losing Bell, AB, and the decline of Big Ben's mobility and health.  The offense has not played a complete football game since blowing out the Panthers in 2018. They have to start playing like an NFL offense. Can't block, can't run, can't pass, can't score, and you can't and won't win. Period!

The defense is elite with Watt and still pretty good without him. You hold a team to 17 points, you should win most of the time in today's NFL. With 14 of those points coming as a result of a poorly timed jump on a deep throw before the half and a redzone turnover from a muffed punt, the defense was still solid.  They have been on the field a lot the first two weeks due to poor offense and not getting off the field on third downs.  At the end of the game, they are typically spent.  See the end of both games this season. The offense has to do something other than it has the first two games.

Kenny Pickett is definitely the future at QB.  I hope that the future is not now though.  I believe that in an ideal world, he could sit this entire season and learn.  Then is 2023 take over and come in as a glorified rookie who is far better prepared. My fear is that if the Steelers offense doesn't get going, we will be not only earing, but seeing, "Kenny! Kenny! Kenny!'

I am, only because I get to watch it on my tv and not a crappy laptop.

I have been so excited that the first two games were on TV for me locally. I have my 75 inch and in the basement I have 3 TVs prime for NFL season.

I watched the first half on my phone because children apparently hate the NFL. I gotta say, I am pretty excited for Prime Time because that also past bedtime!

Ya'll know we are going to hit like 4 plays 50+ yards, score 34 points, blow out the Browns and then lose 10-7 with a Cam Heyward fumble recovery for a touchdown to the Jets right?

I could actually see that happening. Remember when we completely embarrassed Cam Newton and then Panthers that one random Thursday night?

I could actually see Najee having a monster game on Thursday. Not having Clowney will hurt the Browns.

Part of this I could understand, he is a rookie. Having an expanded route tree in the NFL is way harder than what it seems. But it's a little tougher to swallow when it's being pointed out everywhere that Canada's offense is just copy/paste plays. 62% of his route tree comes from the same branch....

My guess is that DJ's route chart would be more expansive, but similar. I'm a broken record on this, but I am honestly scared to death of this offense in October when DC's go "that.....that's it? That's all they do?"

Sean McDermott/Leslie Frazier, Todd Bowles, Dennis Allen.....all with weeks of tape? Yikes.
