Motivation: looking to build on our first win

Offensive Formations: 3WR/1TE/1RB (50%), 2WR/2TE/1RB (30%), 1WR/2TE/2RB (20%)

Offensive Tempo: we will be using a normal temp this week

Designed Playcall Distribution: 40% run, 35% playaction, 20% pass, 5% RPO/screens

Running game: Our running game this week will be focusing on Singapore's edges, we want to push the outside often.  Saquon Barkley will again be our feature back and get touches early and often in this game.   We want to manage down and distance as much as possible and will do this by attacking Singapore's edge defenders.  We feel we have a huge advantage in the run game with Trey Smith, Ryan Kelly, and Kenyon Green and will feature plenty of pulling lineman, double teams and traps to the outside.  Look for Barkley to have a heavy load this game with Akers/Gibson getting more 3rd down plays and late 3rd quarter touches to switch up the style and keep Barkely fresh for the 4th quarter.  One of the keys to our running this game will be using our Jumbo package about 30% of the time (1WR/2TE/2RB).  This will get extra beef to attack higher levels and break some big runs.

Passing game:  This week we are scouting our team and playing to its strengths.  We want Tua to do what he does best and that is working the middle of the field and deep.  We want to compliment the outside runs this week with a large increase in playaction passes.  The goal of our passing game will be to challenge their linebackers and safeties.  Working off of them as our focal point should help in the running game as well.   Gibson is turning into a great pass catcher, from the backfield and the slot position.  We want to have Gibson move all over in the formations and get plenty of looks, especially on third downs.  We want Gibson to get a number of touches in space to use his size and speed to keep ahead of the chains.  Touch passes, quick screens, and end arounds should keep the d honest and the chains moving.  Our goal with Tua is to get him pre snap reads so he will have less to read after the snap.  Lots of motion from the WR's, TE's and RB's will get Tua the information he needs.

RPO/Screens: RPO's and screens will be up to Tua to check into based on his presnap reads.  We want the play checked into an RPO when the LB's and S's are moving into the box and screen's when it looks like big pressure is coming.   The screen check downs will be WR screens mostly with an occasional RB screen.

First series of the game: we want to establish the run with Barkley

Defense Base Formation: 3-4 Cover 6

3-4_defense_cover_6_zone.jpg

Pass Coverage: We went full on mlb scout for this game and will be attacking Singapore based on the scouting report that was generated.  This week we want to take advantage of Derek Carr's weaknesses, as well as limiting what Singapore likes to do.  The first 2 weeks of the BDL season, Singapore has focused on back shoulder throws and crossing/slants routes.  We want to take those away while at the same time playing a base defense that Carr was the worst QB in football when facing last season.  Our Cover 6 Zone will throw a blanket over the middle while only allowing extremely small windows on the outside that we feel was what got Carr into trouble irl last season leading to interceptions.  Our Cover 6 Zone of course will not be our only coverage, we have 2 other coverages we will use heavily as well.  The first is Cover 2 Man, we want to use this to help keep Carr from getting comfortable with the zone but also bc Carr was the worst in football last year irl against it as well.  The second is a new wrinkle to our defense that we have taken directly from Nick Saban and Alabama, Cover 3 Man Hybrid.  This will look to combine the 2 defenses Carr was the worst at last year irl and continue to mix coverages and take away the middle of the field.

Pass Rush: I'm sure everyone noticed a switch to our starting lineup and we feel it will be a great one.  This week we shifted Travon Walker down to the front 3, he has played there plenty in college and will be able to use his speed to get pressure from the inside on passing downs and still hold his own in the rushing game.  Walker won't only play on the inside, as our d line rotation will see some meatier guys rotate in and out to keep everyone fresh.  As for our rushing scheme, we want to attack the rookie G Smith, the C Brende and the G Fieler.  Brendel already has tallied 4 blown assignments in the passing game irl this season so we want to go at the interior 3 with a lot of twists and stunts.  With Travon Walker being one of those interior rushers we feel there will be a number of miscommunication and missed assignments allowing a great rush on the inside to compliment our stellar edge rushers coming from the outside.

Run Defense:  Through the first 2 weeks Singapore has loved the outside zone running game.  With our addition of Travon Walker to the d line, we are putting speed and playmakers onto the field to combat Singapore's running style.  We are also focusing on getting up field to disrupt things before their running backs get moving.  Causing missed assignments and blocks is also key so we will working our stunts and twists into the running game as well

Defensive rotation and formations notes:  we have DT, edge, LB, and DB depth to rotate in and keep everyone well rested.  Jones, Elliott, Oluokun, Lloyd, Okudah, and Woolen will get the most run from the bench guys.  As for formations, even though our base and dominate formation will be 3-4, we do want to sprinkle in some 4-4, 4-3, and nickle when warranted.

Singapore Sentinels

Motivation – Home sweet Home.

Offensive Strategy

Formations:  3 WR Bunch formation (50%)/ 2 TE (35%)/ 2 RB (15%)

Our primary formation will contain a single back, three receivers, and a tight end. Darren Waller is our TE1. 2 TE with Jonnu Smith will be in red zone and short yardage situations. We will also work in 2 RB and get both Hunt and Herbert in the backfield at the same time.

Scheme:  Pass (65%) vs Run (35%)

Passing - Carr will have his trio of receivers to start the game - DeVonta Smith and Gabriel Davis are the outside/Deep WRs. Carr will look for a few back shoulder and post routes. Jarvis Landry will do the dirty work over the middle with crossing routes and slants to get separation. His security blanket Waller will hit the seams. Davis will be the focus this week of the passing game.

We are going to test the lack of Safety depth the Polar Bears have by stretching the field  and Carr will target the voided zones they leave open.

Rushing - Hunt and Herbert will get the majority of the carries this week with Drake spelling them. If Jacobs plays he’ll be used in short yardage situations. We will use outside zone runs to stretch the Greenland DL out because they have a stout middle and set up the pass for Carr with some play action. The versatility of our offensive weapons allows them to line up in multiple spots and give Carr a quick out to move the ball.

Defensive Strategy

Formation:  3-3-5 Defense / 4-1-6 dime

Run Defense - Our front 3 are all solid run defenders. We respect Barkley but should be able to keep him in check to make Tua throw into our vastly improved secondary. We are going to cycle in our DL to wear Barkley down. JOK will be a spy on Tua to run.

Aaron Donald and Arik Armstead clog the middle and get penetration to collapse the pocket and not give Tua time to step up and make throws. The “Greek Freak” Ioannidis and Dre’Mont Jones to keep the boys up front fresh.

Pass Rush  - Odafe Oweh and Uchenna Nwosu man the edges and we will be bringing pressure from our outside linebacker spots. Nwosu will drop into coverage against Barkley in the flat since he has the skills to do so.  The rotation off the bench in Ingram and Golden will make sure that our guys stay primed all day to keep that pressure on.

Pass Defense

Formation - Cover 3 Zone/Cover 1 Man Hybrid

Kendall Fuller, Jaycee Horn and Devin McCourty will be responsible for the deep-third zones with McCourty having the deep middle. Underneath, Jonathan Jones will double cover Diggs and John Johnson will cover Higbee. JOK will be a Spy on the QB. Adrian Phillips is our big nickel S this week.

Coverage Assignments:

·         Stefon Diggs / Kendall Fuller CB + Jonathan Jones CB

·         Ceedee Lamb / Jaycee Horn - CB

          Tyler HIgbee / John Johnson - S

·         Saquon Barkley / Uchenna Nwosu LB

Christian Watson / Adrian Phillips S

Dre'Mont Jones fills in fine for Armstead IMO while Julio Jones AND Christian Watson missing hurts the 50% 3WR sets quite a bit IMO, Gibson getting being forced to play WR more might hurt his ability to play the game he was originally planned into. There are only 2 Healthy true WRs and Gibson. There are just not enough bodies for Greenland to win this game with this gameplan.

Singapore defense tires out what's left of the Polar Bears offense.

I think offensively, When healthy, Greenland has the better offense, I think defensively it's kind of a push I don't necessarily think either team is particularly dominant there. Having said that, If it were not for the fact that Greenland is nearlu completely decimated at wide receiver right now,  I do think they win this game.

But the reality is this isn't a great week for them, I'm gonna go Singapore by 1 score. 10-7 Singapore.
