Kepler
Honestly, GB could never get a call again and everyone in general would be like "yeah finally it's fair".
Spartacus
Someone with the All 22 needs to snippet Wyatts 7 snaps. I'm now curious on what he actually did.

PFF is what it is; it's a marketing company masquerading as a statistical service. I've never liked how they do grading and generally speaking I think their numbers are only worthwhile once you've assembled a ridiculous amount of context for each player, which is to say, never. But just looking at this video, he had two real nice rushes that showcased just how explosive he is, the rest is by the numbers work. It's also worth noting; this guy keeps saying they're doubling Wyatt and/or sliding protection his way, but they aren't. The center is uncovered and it's a four man rush, so he's just looking for work. They end up doubling Wyatt because he's the guy entering the center's zone. Granted, it does look like the center is on high alert that direction the second time, but Wyatt is also a fresh legs 1st round pick known as a pass rusher; not shocking you might glance that way before Lowry. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm on the record on this forum projecting some awfully high expectations for Wyatt, but there's just not much here really worth talking about. He's a big explosive guy looking good in a paltry number of snaps on a hot day; that registers like a 3/10 on my personal excitement scale.

I suspect they're trying to keep him fresh for the stretch run honestly. Reed is serviceable enough as a starter that letting Wyatt learn the ropes a bit here and there doesn't hurt the team much and keeps him from getting worn down as the year goes on. I'd guess you'll see him get more reps as the weeks go on here to get him ready for that back half of the schedule, starting with Buffalo.

I feel like Wyatt will get more snaps when we have a 2 score lead in the second half. When teams have to throw, he should be in there. When they can and will run, he's not the guy you want on the interior of the line. We have fatties for that role. And a game wrecker in Clark, apologies to him as he is not a fattie. I mean I agree, I think if that is indeed the case they're being overly cautious and it's a mistake to not get him at least 15-20 snaps a game. I'm just taking a guess at the likely reason, because it's really the only thing that makes sense to me. Reed is a fine player and good to have on the Roster, but Wyatt's ceiling is so much higher and he's on a 5 year contract; get him going and let the Clark/Wyatt pair eat. sgtcheezwiz
I think we struck gold with our ST coach lol. Even if the numbers are just average this year, which I think they will show better than that, that’s still a massive turn around from where they were.

They are trying to win games right now, and they don't think he's as good as the four guys in front of him. So he gets snaps appropriate do a 5th lineman. With Sunday's heat, I thought that the front four might need a little more rest, but that didn't result in many snaps for Wyatt. 13-4-7 snaps through the first games. (Regulars get reduced snaps week one having not played much in camp, thus #5 gets extra snaps week one.) If we get into some blowout situations, maybe there will be some garbage snaps for him. Otherwise, he'll wait for injury which is the mother of opportunity. Edited September 28, 2022 by craig
JaireAlex
Most teams bring along rookie DL slowly. Packers are typically slower in this regard than most teams. And it's the deepest/strongest they've been at DL since 1998: legit four man able to BRING it front. I haven't seen this kind of pressure in a long long time. Wyatt will see the field. Both he and Enagbare look promising. This front is legit and should be much better next year. fun times.
Refugee
Exactly, KC averaged about 33% snaps in his rookie year and the line was less stacked. I hope Wyatt forces his way onto the field and I definitely think he will see more action, especially if we can get some leads and push our opponents into pass. Next four games hopefully we start building our identity in all 3 phases. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/C/ClarKe01/fantasy/2016#player_fantasy Edited September 28, 2022 by Refugee

Its amazing what you can do by bringing in a couple true special teams "Specialists" instead of trotting out your 4th string RB. Leavitt, Ford, and Nixon have all had shining moments on ST and its only week 3.

We believe he is a pass rusher, yet he had darned few in college. In pre-season, he wasn't really a run stopper. Others are better in their roles right now. Wyatt can get more snaps, but he's really there to keep other guys fresh and to get enough snaps to progress. I want to believe that he is a better rush option than others. And that is why I think when we get a bigger lead, we should see more of him. But that is just me projecting my "hope" into him.

PFF says Wyatt is playing at an elite level, so our coaches must be idiots.
