You say everything different, and we can't make comparisons.

I'm saying there has been very little statistical improvement from last year.

perhaps the minimal statistical improvement is related to all of those things being different and the quality of opponents?

The argument was the coaching staff was the problem. The systems are new, but you get extra practice time in the off season to implement schemes. the DVOA is adjusted for opponents.

I think what we are seeing is players can't execute. The defense is devoid of talent, like last year, and now we are seeing similar trends.

Until we can shed the bad contracts on the team, and infuse the defense with better talent, this will continue.

Not sure your point? You can't replace that many players in one year, especially given the contracts they inherited. No doubt Zimmer had some say in those, and the players.

Yes, at some point you have to just stop with trying to get all into the minutiae of what could have happened if an alternate choice had been made...in a game in which the team won.  You just drive yourself mad and don't allow yourself to be happy about anything...I know a bunch of people that are like that about other topics as well.   🤣

Phil Mackey is insufferable. If Kirk *doesn't* throw this to Mundt and gives Thielen enough time to make his break or lofts it, the underneath CB is going to drop back to Thielen and take that play away.

Don’t even mind taking the safe choice, easy first down to Mundt. Would have been first and goal with Mundt potentially picking up some YAC. Even if he wanted to hit Thielen it would have take a near perfect throw with a CB potentially dropping back to cover. Generally prefer the more aggressive decision to throw to Thielen but we’re honestly not talking about this play if Mundt catches that.

TE has to be a priority next year. Smith is a disappointment and Mundt is just a guy.

Many of the same players. Many of those players playing at a similar level. The team started 2021 with a 1-3 record, the 2022 team has started with a 3-1 record.

Maybe coaching was part of the issue. 🤷‍♂️

70/30 talent/scheme imo.
