Game Balls and Jerry Straps: Dallas at the Vagiants

GB's: The defense, they played a hell of a game. Noah brown and Rush. He played really well. He's turned out to be very valuable. Man...what to do with CD. He redeemed himself in the 2nd half. But he needs to show every game....for the whole game.

Jerry Straps: The refs for sure. Honorable mention to Fergueson for going out of out of bounds.

GBs: DL was terrific, DLaw and DA in particular.  CD’s redemption, but he’s gotta put it all together. Easy drops aren’t going to cut it. Brown and Rush continue to step up.

HM: Hendershot and Ferguson had some bumps, but thought they did very well overall.

Straps: That officiating crew stinks. CD…stupid, stupid drop. Get it together.

Props to the coaching staff for keeping this thing on the rails, honestly. Jason Garrett would be 0-3.

Stop!  Jason Garrett went 13-3 with a back up QBs and a strong running game.  This is proof that the cowboys are dependent on a strong running game with or without Dak.  It’s also proof that Dak is not a $40m/yr QB.  In fact it’s been quite refreshing not seeing ground balls being thrown all the time.

@Nextyearfordaboyz

Dont forget too, those 8-8 teams that Garrett coached where pretty much the entire roster just read Tony Romo all the way down the depth chart. I mean those were some pretty horrid teams he somehow helped keep afloat with Romo at QB.

I get JG wasnt your favorite coach, but he managed some pretty good things in his time here too. In fact, probably one bad call away from coaching this team to a SB berth.

Why is no one mentioning Donovan Wilson? Poor guy was making plays in every level of the field - in the opposing offensive backfield, defensive backfield, at the LoS, and both sidelines.

He has really ramped up his game. He is going to get himself paid very soon.

And that is a bit troublesome IMO, because an impact safety is something this team has lacked since the early years of Roy Williams' career. Kearse is a competitor who puts himself in good position to close out an offensive play, and Hooker is a bit of a do it all kind of guy who is as reliable at the position as this team has had in years..But Wilson is turning into a real playmaker in that secondary. Losing him to a big payday somewhere else would really set the unit back. Its been, seriously, almost 20 years since we have had a real, true impact made from that position.

Jason was good at going 8-8, that’s true.

Lol.

Funny spin you put on it, but you still cant ignore the point that those 3 years of .500 were during a complete roster rebuild. Dumping overpaid, overrated guys starting with the OL, with Adams and Kosier and such, and receivers with Austin and transitioning away from TO, and making up for bad cap choices in guys like Bradie James and Jay Ratliff..and despite all that turnover (Jesse Holley caught a 60 yard game winner from Romo against a Super Bowl caliber 49ers team...Jesse freakin Holley!) JG still helped this team stay out of the losers bracket. He and Romo kept a full rebuild from yielding a 3-13 season which its depth chart probably deserved. Again... Something to be said for that.

I meant to have Wilson on my GB list…  he for sure deserved it
