DingoLadd
Motivation: This week we take on compton in our attempt to get above .500 for the first time in the Portland Era and this will be the first step towards the playoffs for us so we'll be extra motivated. Portland Offensive Gameplan: Run Heavy, Dominate TOP, Control the LOS, Use our RBs as the engine of our offense. The Passing Game: Davante Adams will be our no.1 WR and he'll most likely be covered by Marshon Lattimore who is having an excellent year we'll try to use Adams in the endzone and target him on slants and crossing routes. I'm assuming Hayward will mostly man the slot so Watkins will mostly avoid him and thus we'll get Watkins some screens and try to get him in space so he can use his speed to make plays. Jamison Crowder will be our no.3 WR and depending on who covers him he could end up leading the team in targets since he's such a versatile weapon. Austin Hooper retakes the no.1 TE job and should do his usual 5-50-1 statline and be a solid weapon over the middle, We'll use some more 2 TE sets with Charles Clay back but they won't be a heavy feature. Compton does possess a very good defense overall but they're suspectible to the run and we'll make sure to run the ball quite a bit and use play action off of that so Derek Carr can take some deep shots. LeSean and Howard will be featured heavily in the passing game since we feel they're a mismatch for Compton's LBs and Safeties. We'll leave in an extra blocker or have a TE/RB help in pass protection a decent amount as well to help against Compton's solid pass rush. The Running Game: Jordan Howard will be our main RB with Lesean splitting in for about 40% of the snaps/touches and we'll use LeSean more as a 3rd down/pass catching back and we'll make sure to commit to the run quite heavily to wear out compton's d-line and get chunk plays later in the game. The Blocking: We're going to block well and all that stuff. TDLR; Keep Carr Clean, Open running lanes, Make plays. Portland Defensive Gameplan: Pass Defense: Jimmy Smith will cover Antonio Brown with some help over the top on about 30% of the plays, Johnathan Joeseph will cover Stefon Diggs, Jason McCourty will man the slot. Case Keenum is somehow playing very well and we're not going to treat him like a scrub QB, we'll mostly be playing man coverage and mixing it up with some cover 3 etc. Compton's TE's aren't the biggest threat in the passing game with Bennet "injured" and Fleener just sucking but Compton did use 2 TE sets as their base offense last week so we'll be ready for that. Tarik Cohen is a pretty solid passing game threat but his IRL role has been scaled back so I'm not too worried about him and we should be able to contain compton's passing attack since they have no running game to speak of. We'll play nickel.dime, goaline defense as it is needed and we'll rotate our LBs,CBs, D-line to keep them fresh etc. We'll also use some 3 safety looks with Daniel Sorenson. Run Defense: Compton's o-line has some solid players up front in WhitWorth, Dotson and the dissapointing but solid Scherff. Kawann Short and Jernigan should be able to disrupt the pocket and force Case Keenum into a turnover or two, we'll rotate them with Pierce to keep them fresh. Ogbah and T.J Watt should get some pressure on the QB and if Quinn suits up he should as well once he rotates in, Telvin Smith will be the defensive signal caller make adjustments as needed. Comptons RBs led by the aging Marshawn Lynch are pretty terrible and pose zero threat in the running/passing game unless Cohen has a breakout game or is made the feature back. TDLR; Control the LOS, Shut down the run, Play good defense. COMPTON GAMEPLAN BY WHICKER* Offense: This week we're going to trust Case Keenum and come out with a more pass heavy offense than in the past. Stefon Diggs is obviously the equivalent of Stefon Diggs and Antonio Brown is the idealized version of Adam Thielen. Keenum will have no trouble duplicating his real life success with this offense. We are going to relentlessly attack the weak Portland secondary by moving all three of our receivers around to find good matchups. Antonio Brown will obviously be the primary target, as he is in a league of his own atop the NFL. The Bears have been misusing Tarik Cohen, but we will not make the same mistake here. He will be used as a hot read on our pass plays and we will have several plays designed to get him the ball in space. We will hand him the ball occasionally, mainly on stretch or toss plays. Marshawn Lynch will get the majority of the inside carries. Defense: We will once again use a Cover-1 man scheme. We have two excellent boundary corners and we like their matchups. Marshon Lattimore might be the best corner in the game at this point and he will take on DeAndre Hopkins. Casey Hayward will take Marvin Jones. Karl Joseph will play in the box as a linebacker to spy on Christian McCaffrey as a receiver as well as support against Mark Ingram and the run game. DJ Swearinger will also come down into the box and play a robber role to help disrupt short passes. Essentially, we look to shut down the short passes to Christian McCaffrey while trusting our corners in their one on ones.
Whicker
Man the Compton coach gameplanned for the wrong team. What a scrub. For real though I was afraid that would happen eventually.

DingoLadd
I have no faith in case keenum to pull out a win against portland's defense. Plus compton gameplanning for the wrong opponent doesn't help, annnd I forgot to give Whicker credit for Compton's gameplan. Fixed that and I'm going Portland in a 27-13 win. Whicker
In my defense it's because my actual team was playing Long Beach and so I was just thinking about them all day. I don't proofread my Compton gameplans so there you go. I'm voting Portland.

Xmad
Portland is 6-5 and finally has a winning record for the first time since the Brady Fiasco, who coincidentally we're playing next week.

Jlash
Damn. I think Compton would've actually won this game had they gameplanned the right opponent.
