Your 4-0 Browns, coming off of the easiest 4 game stretch in the NFL, *Narrator interrupts and clears throat* ...yes, my apologies. I forgot that our defense choked and lost in epic fashion against the Jets Week 2, the first time a team has given up a 13 point lead with under 2 minutes remaining since 2001, since some other sucker team did it. *Checks notes*...and I'm being informed that team was also the Cleveland Browns. Your 3-1 Cleveland Browns... *Narrator interrupts and clears throat* ...okay. Apparently we also lost to the FALCONS and gave up yet another 4th Quarter lead. YOUR 2-2 CLEVELAND BROWNS WHO ARE TIED FOR FIRST PLACE IN THE AFC NORTH! Led by this guy: and this defensive savant: (Joe Woods pictured above) ...take on the 2-2 Chargers. Now, let's get on to the key matchups: The Browns are 4th in the NFL in offensive yardage and 6th in the NFL in points scored, but the defense ranks 19th in the NFL in points per game given up, including 2 losses in which they've imploded in the 4th Quarter, with one of their 2 wins coming off of a heroic 58 yard FG. Their defense has given up 17 points in the 4th quarter to Carolina, 17 points in the 4th quarter to the Jets, 3 to Pittsburgh, and 13 to Atlanta for an absolutely embarrassing 50 4th quarter points in just 4 games. KEY MATCHUPS: Justin Herbert, coming off of his best game of the season and a dismantling of the Browns last year, vs. a soft Cover 3 zone: Nick Chubb vs. the World: A depleted Cleveland DL vs. an awful Chargers OL: A Browns WR corps with 1 good WR and a decent TE vs. a banged up and depleted Chargers secondary: Tune in Sunday, CBS, at 1:00 PM for this HOME GAME in Cleveland. Going 2-2 including blowing 2 wins and almost a third is pretty tough when we've played 4 of the 6 worst teams in the league already is a bad look. Now we face 7 teams with playoff aspirations (except maybe the Pats?) 2-5 or worse will be a bit of disaster and could lead to staff changes. 4-3 means playoffs are likely. How that puts them in the 70% percentile as a passing offense doesn't make sense though. The 100% percentile for rushing offense makes perfect sense.
