Analytics has officially been debunked on Sunday October 9 2022.

Playing Chicken on 4th down and short is the winning strategy. Proof by Dr Justin Tucker PhD

The analytics don’t account for a kicker like Justin Tucker on your team. So when you fail you look silly not using a weapon like that

I know the paper metrics would say that even if you knew how good Justin Tucker would be as a kicker, that you still shouldn't use a first round pick on him. But it would be hard not to pull the trigger on him with that foresight unless you had a top ten pick and were in position to nab a game changing player at a key spot like a QB, EDGE, OT, or CB. Ravens haven't had to worry about their kicker in a decade to the nth degree. He makes Matt Stover who was already a great kicker look like a half-measure.

Then the paper metrics are wrong. Like literally 50% or so of first round picks are irrelevant/should not start/are played because of draft status even though they are below average. Justin Tucker has been a significant plus asset for 11 years and has never been paid more than 5M per year yet and never missed a game due to injury. If you are doing math that says he wouldn't have been worth a first, then you did the math wrong.
