  1. 1. What should the Packers do about their defensive coordinator?

    • Fire MLF, he hired him
    • Fire Joe Barry immediately and get somebody who will play aggressive defense
    • MLF should lay down the law with Barry to stop playing not to lose, get aggressive
    • Ride it out and see what happens this season then make a decision
    • Joe Barry is great

Man - I simply can’t put this loss on Barry man.

I am like WTF, 1st half of the season in some games. But he turned our defense well 2nd part of the season.

Even today, with out Offense Fumble we are going into half time with 12-3 lead. And that 3 points are also coming off ****ty 4th down no conversion in opponents field.

If LaFleur was honest and they are going to go over every aspect of the team, Barry won't make it.

The fact they performed well towards the end in spite of losing Gary earlier isn't enough for me.

The fact he continues to make boneheaded decisions in crucial, critical parts of the game is enough to get him fired.

Fourth and 2 and we lined up our defensive backs 5 yards away from their receivers.

What difference at that point does getting beat deep make? They convert the 4th down and it's game over. Why are you being timid and conservative when your entire season is literally on the line? To compound this, our guys are better playing physical football.

I don't know what's a better indication of him needing to be fired:

1. Walker's second ejection.
2. Rasul's boneheaded WTF play.
3. The 4th and 2 call.
4. Every similarly boneheaded decision the previous 16 games.
5. All of the above while having 97 first round picks, including Jaire ****ing Alexander.

Man, I saw a lot of zone yesterday.  No stunts on the line either.  We ran some pretty predictable blitzes.  But at least they were blitzes.

Barry needs to be gone.  The players can't go through that again.

Bottom line .. he's not a good enough DC.  It's not like he is some up and comer who hasn't hit his stride yet either.  He's a two time, maybe three time unsuccessful DC who is what he is.  Move on!

Yeah this is where I'm at too. Barry's defense carried this team and might be the only reason we even had a chance at the playoffs. Held the last 5 opponents of the season to 20 points or less. The D let me down a number of times this season, but I don't think I can blame them. This offense has struggled all year.

I don't think folks should get fooled by the mirage that was the defensive performance during the winning streak.

Against the Bears, they did turn Fields over but he has no weapons and is still raw as a passer. Plus, I think they (Chicago) shut him down a bit in terms of scrambling.

The Rams suck (and still put up 138 rushing yards).

The Dolphins completely fell apart after the Tua concussion (probably because they somehow didn't know yet again that he was concussed)

The Vikings were led by Kirk Cousins after 3PM.

The Lions on the road are generally bad.

If the Packers want Jim Leonhard they better get on it .. the Browns wasted no time in firing their DC, and Leonhard has been rumored to be one of their top targets for several weeks now.

Ya they’re already starting interviews

I think there are better candidates than jim now though. He didn’t want to be in GB.

While the Offense did everything it could to lose by not making plays. Barry did what he always does. He played so conservative that when it mattered the most 4th and 2 he had his guys playing off coverage. I mean it was the same all year. Lots of other problems, but with the resources that have been poured into that defense to play like that and always play like that is on him and the FO. Pay your DC and pay him well get anyone from the Steelers, the Ravens anyone from a club that plays agressive. Get any Ryan brother or someone out of retirement to coach up this D. If not keep AR around even longer cause if Love has to outscore everyone then it's the same old same.
