  1. 1. What should the Packers do about their defensive coordinator?

    • Fire MLF, he hired him
    • Fire Joe Barry immediately and get somebody who will play aggressive defense
    • MLF should lay down the law with Barry to stop playing not to lose, get aggressive
    • Ride it out and see what happens this season then make a decision
    • Joe Barry is great

Points aren't all that matter apparently.

It's trending more and more and more towards needing to be able to get after the QB and get interceptions.

The Packers gotta keep building that front 7.  Another high draft pick DL isn’t out the question IMO.  Along with EDGE of course

There will be a great wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Would be annoying, but really don't want him in MN. MN wants him and MN has already had other candidates like Desai pulling out of consideration for DC in MN. Hope they get Pettine.

What if you hire Leonard for secondary coach and then replace Barry with Leonard when barry inevitably sucks?

I'm sure the Packers would consider it .. maybe they could give him the passing game coordinator role as well to help make it more attractive.

I'd welcome it, but I think it's likelly though. He's probably going to get a larger college offer soon like next year and sitting behind someone like Barry probably dosen't look good for an advacing resume.

I bet LaFleur is being held to am internal cap on assistant coaches.  He was allowed to spend big on Rich Bisaccia on last year .. maybe they are capping him a bit this year?

That is crap, the Packers have never limited the FO or coaching staff of funds to do anything. Anyone who has ever listened to Andrew Brandt would understand that.

There were reports that money was an issue when the Packers didn't hire Darren Rizzi as ST coach in 2019. Maybe things have changed because I'm sure Bisaccia didn't come cheap.

Andrew Brandt wasn't still with the Packers when Mark Murphy was hired as President.

They lowballed Darren Rizzi a few years back, and made LaFleur keep Pettine. Andrew Brandt hasn't worked for the Packers in 15 years.

They didn't lowball him, they offered him a contract that would have made him the highest paid assistant on the staff and his agent took it and leveraged it against the Saints to get the job he really wanted.

Keeping Pettine around was the right thing to do until MLF got his legs under himself as a HC, the same thing the Rams did with Bum Phillips for McVay.

As for Brandt not working for the Packers for some time, he is still well aware of the contracts the Packers handout and the language in those contracts. The Packers annually are one of the biggest cash spending teams in the NFL.

Really people?

We are REALLY doing the "They lowballed Rizzi." thing again?

SMMFH

HIS WIFE WANTED TO STAY CLOSE TO FLORIDA. NOTHING WE WOULD HAVE OFFERED WOULD HAVE GOT HIM HERE. HE SAID AS MUCH IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE RUMORS.

And yet.... here we are again.

But if they ignore reality it helps with pimping their narrative that the Packers are cheap and won't spend to win. Like if the Packers would have only coughed up the cash to sign Odell Beckham Jr. last summer.

Well okay then .. if LaFleur isn't being restricted in his spending on coaches then he must be a glutton for punishment.  Joe Barry is a proven low grade DC and there have been many potential upgrades that have not even received an interview.  At minimum LaFleur is failing to do his due diligence when it comes to having the best staff that money can buy.
