Here's a possible trade that is good for Baltimore, Washington, and Chicago.

Baltimore gets Justin Fields (3 years rookie contract) and Daron Payne (Franchised).

Washington gets Lamar Jackson (Franchised).

Chicago gets 2023 1st, 2nd from Baltimore and 1st in 2024

Chicago gets 2023 1st, 2nd from Washington and 2nd in 2024

And with the 1st pick, Chicago picks CJ Stroud... because he dominated Georgia's defense.

This would be amazing..for Baltimore fans hahaha

Here's a possible trade that is good for Carolina (or Las Vegas, Atlanta ) , Baltimore, and Chicago.

Baltimore gets 1st overall.

Carolina gets Lamar Jackson (Franchised).

Chicago gets 2023 1st from Baltimore and 2nd in 2024

Chicago gets 2023 1st, 2nd from Carolina and 1st in 2024

So BAL trades away their 1 this year, their 2 next year AND Lamar Jackson for CJ Stroud? I… can’t see them doing that. The Bears getting 9, 22 and 39, plus CAR’s 1 and BAL’s 2 next year for 1 would be AWESOME though.

Baltimore gets a top rookie salaryQB and save $40Million/year.

Carolina would do this because they don't have to send DE Burns and more picks.

I get that, but I think it undervalues Jackson. He’s a 26-year old superstar QB and former MVP. If they decide to trade Lamar (which I don’t think they will) they’d almost surely get as much or more from CAR than what CAR is giving the Bears in your scenario to just trade with them directly. From there, with picks 9, 22, at least one of CAR’s 2023 2s (presumably pick 39) and their own 2024 2 they could then likely get all the way to 1 if they wanted to and probably still have CAR’s 2024 1 for themselves instead of the Bears having it. That’s a way better deal for them. Also, you’re assuming Stroud is their first choice and he may not be, and they may not need to get all the way to 1 to get him anyway.

The Carolina side makes a lot of sense. They’re basically trading the same (or maybe less than) they’d need to trade to us to get to 1 and take a prospect to get a known top tier commodity.

Exactly. Not surprising to hear it again now that combine week has finally arrived though. This is really when those discussions should start to heat up.

Can't wait until tweets come out about Poles talking with other GMs.

"Poles speaks with KC GM Brett Veach over their favorite style of 'omelettes.' Is this code the cost of moving up to the 1st overall pick?"

Then the next rumor is Bryce Young to be Mahomes' replacement in 2023.
