Texansfan713
If I'm ranking them in order by preference. 1. Ben Johnson 2. Shane Steichen 3. DeMeco Ryans 4. Jonathan Gannon 5. Ejiro Evero

I'm liking the potential candidates so far. Need to research the Broncos DC. He was a very hot commodity to land the interim role in Denver with a strong opportunity to get the role full time. People sing his praises as a maestro in the secondary, creating coverage schemes that suffocate these spread type offenses. He might be a nice pick to pair with Stingley, but I don't know if I'm fully on board with him over Ryans, Gannon or Johnson.
OzzyTexan
I'm pleased so far with how it's been handled. Getting rid of Lovie in a timely fashion and the interview list is a positive. The only thing that concerns me with these younger coordinator names is what kind of staff can these guys bring with them, and that would be a pretty major factor in who they should hire. If I'm ranking based on the interview list so far: 1. Ben Johnson - Offensive mind done great work with Lions offense. This is a boom or bust hire. I'd be willing to take the risk for a young offensive guy. Biggest questions for me are who he can bring in to run the defense and how does the rest of the staff look. 2. Jonathan Gannon - He is who I expect Houston to end up with. In my opinion he is most likely to be able to bring a strong staff with him. With connections to Frank Reich and Mike Zimmer. I'd love to see him bring in guys like that to be on his staff and help turn this team around. 3. Demeco Ryans - He would be my favorite but I don't see him wanting to take this job given the recent history of this franchise, and back-to-back one and done minority hires. I'd be shocked if he wanted to take over here given he will have other opportunities. 4. Shane Steichen - Questions I have are about what staff he could assemble and how much of Philly's offensive success is Steichen vs Sirianni. I'd be least excited about this hire but a guy like Bryce Young might fit with Steichen. 5. Ejiro Evero - Had great year with Broncos defense this year but was a strong unit before he took over. Similar to Johnson in terms of success as a first-year coordinator. He has the makeup to be a future strong HC candidate, but if I'm going to risk this position on a young guy without much coordinator experience, I'd lean towards the offensive option in Johnson. ET80
Caserio must have nearly gotten fired yesterday. There must have been significant blowback from Cal after they lost out on the #1 pick - would explain why Lovie was fired and why Caserio is going on about an inclusive process and how he'd step away. If I had to guess... Cal wanted that #1 pick, and was plenty upset when it was thrown away by Davis Mills and Jordan Akins.
Texansfan713
any of yall seen the press conference? I missed it. Why are people on twitter saying Cal got Cesario shook?

Because he basically is saying enough is enough. Get these hires and players right, or you're fired next. To me, Cal seemed very clear on it.

I also think it means if we go 3-14 next season, it's Caserio who will go and the HC/Cal finding a new GM.
