Week 7 GDT

I think the eagles are gonna use their first rounders to get a big fish like the rams were doing for years. If the Saints pick top 3 and Anderson is there they will take him but that’s it.

The rams got Jalen Ramsey for multiple 1’s

It will be a media frenzy if Brett Rypien looks good against the Jets. Hard to look worse.

Both primetime games look pretty pedestrian. And I'd probably think that before the season started. I've noticed that the BYE teams this week are all winning squads other than the 3-3 Rams. Unfortunate. Most of the matchups this week seem unremarkable.

Brian burns is a nice player but if it’s true that they got offered 2 1’s and didn’t take him the panthers are stupid. He’s not Myles Garrett

You don't need to be a Myles Garrett-level player to be worth 2 1st round picks.

There aren't a lot of ends who have been more efficient and productive than Burns since he's entered the league.  He's held down the fort as our best defensive player (well, until Derrick Brown made that leap this season that he always showed flashes of and Horn's been shut-down, so there are some challengers).  He is incredibly athletic and lengthy, and most importantly, he's 24 years old.  Barring injury, odds are his best days are in front of him as that is when a lot of star edge guys start hitting their prime.  You don't trade that kind of player on the line for 2 first round picks.

Not to mention, we don't know what team was offering them.  I'd bet it was a team that will be in playoff contention or at the very least, not picking in the top 10.  You don't give up a young pass rusher with his productivity and his athleticism for a couple of late 1sts.

I don't think the Panthers move anyone else, other than maybe Shaq Thompson but I seriously doubt he would fetch anything of actual value to make it worth it.  Chinn would be interesting - he's in his last year next year and I'm not sure what he'll be looking for contract or scheme-fit wise.  I think a team could use him better than we do, but obviously we don't know who the DC will be next year.  I couldn't in any scenario see us trading DJ Moore.  Moore is so far and away better than the next best player on the offense, and that says a whole lot more about the offense than it does Moore (who is still a very good WR).  Although the OL has played well and Ikem looks like he'll be the long-term answer at LT.

He’s not an elite pass rusher. Someone gives me 2 1’s and I am a complete dumpster fire team that’s gonna start a complete rebuild I’m taking it.  Plus he’s gonna demand a bag of money this offseason

You are not close you need all the help you can get

While I understand your logic, he is only 24, plays a premier position, and even if not ELITE, is very good.

If you trade him for two 1sts, you are likely spending one of them to replace him...with a guy you HOPE is as good and likely not much younger.    There is a definite chance you dont improve that position.   Yeah, you still have another first rounder to improve another area, and again, I dont think it would be a terrible idea to go that direction, but I completely understand why they rejected it.

Now if it was something like...2023 1st and 2nd & 2024 1st and 3rd...then Id say the Panthers should take it.
