VikeManDan
Heckuva debut for Hock! Irv's season stats: 22/168/2 (33 targets) Mundt's season stats: 13/77/1 (15 targets) KJ's season stats: 21/185/2 (33 targets - has made some timely catches!!) Hock's 1st game: 9/70/0 (9 targets) Love the dynamic he adds to the offense and glad that him and Cousins appear to have a great rapport already!

vikesfan89
I love how hockenson and the team came together to get him ready to play. Even the practice squad qb had a big party in it. They didn't just take accept that it would take a few weeks to get him up to speed.

I had forgot that Blough is the 3rd team QB for this team...there certainly was no better player to know how to translate the Detroit offense to the Minnesota one than Blough.
JDBrocks
It is remarkable that he was able to integrate so quickly.
viking
I'm not sure what I enjoy more: Watching TJ catch 3rd downs or reading the posts from the Lions fans on this board trying to cope. Lions got fleeced and I'm loving it

vike daddy
With less than a week to get up to speed in a brand new offense, it took major dedication from Hockenson and several others, starting as soon as he landed in Minnesota on Tuesday night. He spent a ton of time with Vikings tight ends coach Brian Angelichio and third-string quarterback David Blough, a former teammate of his in Detroit, during the week. With those two at the forefront, Hockenson took a crash course in O'Connell's offense and aced his first test on Sunday. Cousins: "Can't say enough about what T.J. Hockenson did this week to learn this system. Took me about four months to learn it; he did it like four days, so he's kind of making me look bad. Not one time in the huddle did I feel like he was looking at me like he didn't know what to do. Just very much on top of it. Gave me a sense of ease as a result." Hockenson: "I'm super excited to be here. I'm just excited to be a piece in this puzzle. A lot of good guys around here. The facility is beautiful, so I'm just excited to be here, man. There's nowhere I'd rather be." https://www.vikings.com/news/tj-hockenson-tight-end-shines-debut-week-9?fbclid=IwAR1pJd3XXVUp1xHl-DHXdjHVMU1hSJ-c4LGSCpQIxO6JAgWrHBQs8hECThg

Its pretty close. 4 more TDs for Hockenson, but a better catch rate for Fant. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HockTJ00.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/F/FantNo00.htm

Hockenson is a complete TE. Fant = Waller. Hockenson = Gronk. Although dollar store versions.

I think many in Denver were somewhat disappointed with Fant because he wasn’t the mismatch nightmare that he was advertised as coming out of Iowa. But, he’s been a solid tight end.
