MOSteelers56
What is everyone's take on this year's IDL class? Looks like there will be a good top tier and some good value later too. Obviously Carter from UGA is the crown jewel. How does he compare to past guys? Bresee from Clemson looks good, more of a 5-tech build. He needs to stay healthy and string some games together. There's also the behemoth from Florida, Gervon Dexter. He looks like he could be a real player. How about the giant sized, Siaki Ika from Baylor. He looks like he could turn into a really quality pro. Opinions on this class in comparison to what we've seen before from the IDL classes of the past? Scoundrel
Tyler Davis from Clemson is an underrated player I really like.
LinderFournette
this class appears better then the last couple of classes at this point in terms of uptop and depth.

I haven't looked too much at IDL guys this year though.
Ozzy
Siaki Ika I agree has a lot of potential and could be a steal in the late 1st or early 2nd, little disappointed in his lack of production last year, he was far more productive and impactful last year. Mazi Smith is another potential star NT type, not sure he declares but kid can play and is a great athlete for his size and is having a great year. Both Michigan and Baylor have some massive dudes on the edge who could be great 3/4 OLBs or 3/4 DEs, both have some really big dudes.

Could be the Clemson Orange and Purple but reminds me of Grady Jarrett. If picked in the 3rd/4th round I think he far exceeds his draft position. I haven’t even looked at the other dudes from Michigan and Baylor. I got stuck on Morris. What an interesting prospect. An EDGE with the size of a 5-tech is an interesting combo. I wonder where he fits in the NFL?
MagicMT
Mazi Smith and Jalen Carter are going to be real good pros. Also like Ika a lot. Should be a strong DT class

Should be a strong DT class Yeah Jalen Carter just ate Tennessee alive, and that is a pretty solid Vols OL, Carter was a beast. I would say outside of Carter the interior DL has kind of disappointed a bit, look at Clemson with Bresee and Tyler Davis and Murphy on the edge, Murphy had some decent moments in that game but overall they got totally crushed by that Notre Dame OL but they played great and so did the Irish. Still in terms of production a lot of top guys have not been as dominating this year it seems, then again with most college football offenses the tempo and quick passes takes the DL right out of the game. 19 hours ago, MOSteelers56 said: I didn’t know Mike Morris until you posted that. Yeah I love Mike Morris, that dude is massive and could be a 3/4 DE or a 3/4 OLB, extremely interesting prospect considering his size and what he can do.

jebrick
Jalen Carter is the best pure 3 tech in the draft. He should not be used outside.

I would let someone else answer that. I look at dline in terms of what the Steelers look for which is not 3 techs. I can see Carter is a very good 3 tech but would not work well being moved to a 5/7-tech. He does not have the length and does not show well when moved there in college. He would be wasted at the 0/1 tech and seems to come out vs the run currently. I am not sure why but he does not play that many snaps on running downs. Could be just how Georgia uses him. I do not think he is as good as Jeffery Simmons. Perhaps the tier below Simmons. Could he grow into a Simmons-like DT?
Daniel
After watching Clemson-ND, I have to wonder. Is Tyler Davis a better prospect than Brian Bresee? Because he certainly looked like the far superior player in this game.
