NYRaider
Is this dude really a good GM? In his final season with New England he shelled out big money for Kendrick Bourne, Jonu Smith, Hunter Henry, and Nelson Agholor among others and they’ve all been disappointments. With us he has given Carr, Waller, and Renfrow big extensions. Traded two picks for Adams (paid him), paid Chandler Jones, Bilal Nichols, etc who have all been underwhelming. Not to mention he also declined Josh Jacobs 5th year option.
drfrey13
It is hard to judge because I would assume he went out got guys McDaniels wanted. Just like Gruden/Mayock we have no clue who deserves the most blame. I will say that most of the contracts are structured so we can get out of them quickly and we have not made any stupid restructured deals yet.
NCOUGHMAN
I kinda liked the draft other than that not a lot of his choices make sense to me. But it’s early kinda
big_palooka
It's been 7 games. Some of you have never gotten over the tuck rule game and it shows.
ronjon1990
TBD. It's his first real go at things. New England is a mess offensively right now. Matt Patricia is calling plays and they have no idea whether they like Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe Moore- neither of whom I think very highly of. On top of it, the Pats have long had issues at WR, some of which I'm going to attribute to McDaniels. His tenure in New England never gave me any reason to believe his system was good with WRs, nor his time in Denver, or even his layover in St. Louis. It's not surprising then that Adams and Renfrow are now sort of meh when you look at his history of WRs. So I'm not sold that Adams or Renfrow were bad pays. Waller? I had my reservations about that long before. As for Jones...I can give a pass to a degree, and I have zero faith in Patrick Graham. But I'm also firmly of the mind that it's not a talent issue, it's that McDaniels and Graham just aren't very good.
Jeremy408
I am withholding judgment on Ziegler because I want to see if he can draft or not. But I will say that messing around with a Dline has definitely raise an eyebrow. Especially when you look at Chandler Jones contract in conjunction with the Yannick trade. Not until the NFL and BB say it was a fumble. Whether he was bringing it back to his body or not, as soon as his other hand was on the ball there is no way it is a fumble. I said after that on every play as soon as Gannon got the ball he should pump fake and then he could never fumble. The logic applied to use that rule on that play made zero sense. Humble_Beast
to early to truly judge but early thoughts: Pros (moves I liked): I like the gamble and trading for a star wideout draft class looks promising but hard to tell Parham Is one of the better rookie guards and a Day1 starter Farrell could be a starting NT, one of the highly ranked NT in the draft. 4th round value , but hasn't had an impact yet Zamir White - looks like a great 4th round prospect. Could shine if he was to get a chance Munford - might be a steal and a future starter at RT Mack Hollins was a nice cheap find Huron - solid starting vet safety did cut a lot of dead weight, a lot of guys had to go able to get draft picks for so so players like Edwards, Mullens, Hankins Mix Bag So So: Chandler Jones- be off and on. However, hasnt been getting home. Paid elite and hasnt been elite Yannick for Rock Ya Sin- mix feelings on the trade Cons (moves that are meh) Renfrow extension- yuck Waller extension- not looking too good didn't improve the Offensive line, which was our weakness last year didn't add enough talent on defense. Defense still lacks in overall talent Drake- could have landed a pick for him Leatherwood- see above Didn't replace Ruggs speed at wideout Didn't pickup Jacobs 5th year There is good, but our biggest weakness didn't get addressed (Defense, OLINE)

I can't even remember that last good DT the Raiders had.

Are JMD and DZ your uncles or something? All of the moves that he made for the Patriots last year have been overpays and underwhelming on the field as well.

Surely Bill Bellichick was the de facto GM in Foxborough? Ziegler I’m sure wasn’t overruling him.
BayRaider
No one who has anything to do with New England except Bellicheck should ever be hired. When it comes to actual FOOTBALL, Mark is unfortunately the least intelligent owner. And he has bad impulse control just like his father… will hire the shiny new toy like Gruden and McDaniels. At least Al’s impulse control was counter-acted by his football knowledge in his prime 60’s to 80’s.
