BullsandBroncos
FA thread. Thought I'd get it started. Mets resigned Edwin Diaz to a 4 year 102 milly deal. Opt out after 2 years for Diaz I believe. mets have that money so I'm not surprised. Wish Boston could learn how to retain/resign their good players. What a phantom concept. This contract is horrendous. 5 years for a reliever is dumb and then they add the option. $20M for a reliever is dumb. And full no trade for a reliever is dumb. Oh and they give him an opt out so he can fleece them again in a few years if they are lucky enough for him to actually earn the contract. That is so, what's the word........DUMB!

Mets are going to be giving out a ton of contracts that would be stupid for other teams that have financial limitations. Mets don't have any financial limitations. They realize their huge advantage over the rest of their division (league?) and are maximizing that advantage. I'm extremely jealous. Cubs should have been doing this for years. Texansfan713
I remember not too long ago paying 100 mil for a closer was unheard of. Crazy how times have changed. Imagine how closers like Eric Gagne, Trevor Hoffman and even Mariano Rivera would have gotten.

Mariano would've gotten a minority ownership with the team I think James Paxton has the weirdest contract situation I've seen though. If the Red Sox opt in to his deal it's 2 years, 26 million. If Boston opts out, he can still opt in for 1 year, 4 million. if I'm Boston, I opt out

Slateman
Wow. Dude builds a Dusty-proof bullpen and you fire him?
naptownskinsfan
I’d love to see the Orioles end up with one of the big four shortstops and Verlander, but chances are we end up with one of the tier two starters and making a trade for a second starter. Not sure which SS we end up with, but my money would be on Correa or Turner.
