Just Want A Title
3 minutes ago, Karnage84 said: This was a handful of snaps, so I can't say this is definitive proof of anything. Just an observation. I watched some clips of the Tennessee game. Dexter is lined up at DRT (4 on the line) while Justus Boone (#12), a 6'4, 260 lbs RsFr Edge is lined up at RE. The first snap he dropped back in coverage and he was rushing on a few others. I guess that speaks well to his movement skills but dropping a 310 LB D-Lineman in coverage doesn't make a lot of sense to me. That is why I think there is some untapped talent. If he can work inside full time it seems like he could be good as a 3 and 5 technique D-LIneman

Snap 1: 3 man rush, Boone drops into coverage Snap 2: 4 man rush Snap 3: 4 man rush
Just Want A Title
Check out the scouting reports on Gervon Dexter. One mentions that he has played everything from a 0 to a 3-techniue. He has all of the physical tools but based on how he was used and the not-great defensive coaching at Florida, his potential was never quite realized. I'm going to check out the other articles but that's my first note.

Nevertheless, he has more than enough athleticism and strength to move around the front. He’s a potentially scheme-versatile DT prospect with the upside of an impact starter. Karnage84
On a side note, this is kind of going away from the Lions actual rookies. Great conversation @Just Want A Title but maybe we should move this into another thread
Louis Friend
I don't get everyone hyping up Bryan Bresee. I watch his tape and it's just not there. I think people just want a DT, with Carter gone, but Bresee is not that guy, especially as an early first rounder. I hate drafting for positions and not talent. Thats how we draft Eric Ebron over Aaron Donald.
