What's happening to the Rams is why you don't sell out completely.

Future first round picks should NEVER be touched. EVER.

Second round picks need to be used in trades EXTREMELY CAREFULLY.

Third round picks you can virtually throw away for proven talent, especially if you're as bad at them as the Packers are.

So the Rams are actually proving the Packers point right now in draft capital, but I cannot accept nor forgive our complete and total allergy to moving third, fourth and later picks in order to acquire in-season talent.

But... Damn. Imagine being a Rams fan right now.

Your identity on defense is going to be 32 years old at the start of next season. 35 for your QB. 30 for your WR. 29 for your shutdown corner. You don't have a franchise tackle. You're paying OLD players ELITE money.

Their draft picks? 2nd round, 3rd round, 2 6ths and a 7th.

Their method could work if they sold their studs to recoup high picks after it becomes obvious they aren't contenders any more.

Should have been sellers this year and this off-season to start a rebuild.

Rams got their championship.  Sucking for a few years after for some is worth it.  Aside from NE, how many teams have sustained multiple super bowl appearances over a 5 year span in the last 10+ years?

When their entire postseason was full of moments where one play goes wrong and they lose…

THAT is why their method should never be one you use.

That is just about every teams post season run.

Being afraid something could go wrong is not a great way to GM.

How is the track record of teams that don't trade for players in getting to or winning the superbowl?
