He made the plays down field, especially in the intermediate range. So, just looking at the intangible aspect of judging QB play, Ben showed more on a weekly basis. You could pick just about any game from Ben's rookie year and see more NFL throws than what we've seen from Pickett so far in all of his. Big difference here is that success builds confidence. Ben had veteran's to lean upon early. The success and winning brought attitude and swagger. Pickett is being called in to be a leader as a rookie who was groomed to be a back-up. Huge difference. I think Pickett is more consistently accurate than Ben yet, he was hesitant the last game in particular because of some f the INT's. When those are completions, the confidence goes up. Many have said to give Pickett opportunities to be successful. Throw safe quick passes. Get him going in the right direction. This is where a running game helps. Youth, enthusiasm, and confidence go a long way when it is backed up by success and TD's. I think Ben had a lot of early success that helped and hurt him. Don't be surprised by Pickett's ascendance and rise going into year two and three (similar to what happened with Josh Allen). Kenny was thrown on the train and put in the control. Teams seem to want to force their high draft choices to play. I don't always agree with that thinking. No one is patient anymore. You can't microwave experience and confidence.

VigilantZombie
With Watt back, we might actually be able to beat the Bengals again.
CKSteeler
Serious question, after how this season has played out - how do people think Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers look in the Matt Canada and Randy Fichtner offenses Ben has been in the last few seasons, with the same group of WR's and skill guys who sure do seem to be pretty underwhelming without even a broken down version of Ben around to prop them up? I don't expect many serious answers because a few people may have to do some self-reflection, maybe admit that they were wrong, cast blame on the wrong person for a lot of offensive issues that have carried over post-Ben etc. Ben was not the QB he was in 2020 as he was in 2018. But I maintained, and still maintain, that he could have kept playing and been a lot more productive than people think if not thrown into a complete and utter disaster of an offense. He was nowhere near as bad as Peyton was at the end of his career or even, for that matter, Drew Brees was last season. The physical decline, at least arm wise, was not that great. He lacked the mobility and ability to absorb hits like he used to. But I'm pretty sure the same crowd that supported running him out of town early will be far happier to have some higher draft picks that are basically the NFL's version of choosing the mystery box prize on a gameshow. I suspect they'll pick around 10, and will have a pretty high chance of whiffing on whoever it is they take, anyway. warfelg
Catching the end of the Jets game and holy hell, Zach Wilson’s power on his throws makes Kenny’s arm look like a rocket launcher.
