jleisher
Front line worker and I get covid after the fact, no figure? Used profootballnetwork simulator for this mock draft and NFL draft buzz for scouting. Enjoy! After consulting with Rod Marinelli, (little humor here fokes!). Packer's fire DC Joe Berry and promote DB coach Jerry Gray to DC with Aubrey Pleasant sliding into the DB coach. I would prefer someone else, but this seems more like a Packer move. I would also like the Packers to consider the following coaches for DC as well. Jim Leonhard UW HC, gut tells me that he gets passed over as HC for Lance Leipoid. Brian Flores Senior Defensive Advisor Steelers. Vic Fangio former Denver HC and Bears DC. In a surprise move, Packers hire Frank Reich as Senior Offensive Consultant and Asst. HC. Packers make this move to lock in LaFleur's possible replacement if next season starts off bad. Yeah, your right, probably won't happen but I think it would make sense. Before the draft, Green Bay signs two street free agents. Both players could add a lot to offense, if in the right football frame of mind. Will Fuller WR, sign him to a 1yr deal and see if a year off has reset his motor. Eric Ebron TE, same as Fuller. Don't understand why both didn't play this year. Mock Draft: #12. Falcon's call to move up to draft a WR they want, offered me pick #13 and #113. Deal done. Falcon's select Kayshon Boutle WR LSU. #13. Titian's call seeing a top OL dropping, offer me picks #27, #58 and 2024 2nd rd pick. I agreed. Titian's select Paris Johnson T Ohio St. #27. Packers select Antonio Johnson CB/S Texas A&M (IMO, best player available at this selection.) QB RATING WHEN TARGETED: 77.7 TACKLING: 81% RUN DEFENSE: 95% COVERAGE: 87% ZONE: 82% MAN/PRESS: 85% Has the change-of-direction ability to mirror underneath but did solid work out of press and off coverage. Has excellent ball skills, tracking the ball effectively and instinctively taking the right route to break up the play. Johnson has the strong hands and coordination to come down with interceptions. Tracks the ball well downfield and has the innate feel for high-point passes. He’s willing to come up and fill against the run and seems to take pride in delivering violent hits in run support. Exceptionally quick, with the feet and fluidity to mirror underneath, including in the slot against the two-way go. Johnson stays low in his backpedal and explodes toward the ball, with an outstanding closing burst. He’s a willing and capable hitter in run support and closes fast to make plays against quick screens. Can track the ball downfield and gets his head around when playing in a trail position, and Johnson shows excellent ball skills when breaking on a route. He’s a plus tackler in run support as well. Quicker than he is fast but has a burst to close in zone coverage and plays physical at the line in man. #43. Packers select Felix Anudike-Uzomah Edge Kansas St. (7.5 sacks as of this mock.) OVERALL RATING: 87.5 / 100 STOCK UP GAME PERFORMANCE WEIGHTED RATING TACKLING: 85% PASS RUSH: 90% RUN DEFENSE: 81% His long limbs and strong core strength allow him to power through blockers, and Anudike-Uzomah has the flexibility to loop inside and get home on twists. Anudike-Uzomah has long arms and displays good power in his hands, which gives him the ability to slip off blocks. As a run defender, he has the speed to chase down ball carriers in pursuit. Offers some versatility, rushing from a two-and three-point stance with the playing speed to stand up in space. Flashes strength as a bull rusher and his energy doesn't plateau. Has fluid footwork to redirect, reverse momentum and close with a burst. Regularly first off the ball with good snap anticipation. Anudike-Uzomah can also win going speed-to-power, with the leg drive to push blockers back. He’s very instinctive when it comes to countering and solid with overall hand usage. #58. Packers select Ricky Stromberg IOL Arkansas OVERALL RATING: 86.8 / 100 STOCK UP GAME PERFORMANCE WEIGHTED RATING PASS BLOCKING: 83% RUN BLOCKING: 90% His high football IQ and the ability to set protections at the line of scrimmage will make him popular with position coaches. OVERALL RATING: 81.7 / 100 GAME PERFORMANCE WEIGHTED RATING TACKLING: 75% PASS RUSH: 84% RUN DEFENSE: 77% A savvy, versatile and instinctive edge rusher who did a little bit of everything, Morris was especially effective getting to the quarterback. Packer's select DeMarcco Hellams S Alabama QB RATING WHEN TARGETED: 88.0 TACKLING: 89% RUN DEFENSE: 93% COVERAGE: 70% ZONE: 65% MAN/PRESS: 67% Eager to come downhill as a tackler and plays with a physical edge, and he’s effective as a blitzer. Has an NFL frame with strong hands, the ability to close quickly on underneath routes and the size to tackle with a thump. He’s tall-framed with long arms to match. With his powerful hands, straight-line speed, and fluidity in his hips, turning and chasing downfield shouldn’t be a problem. Can deliver the big hit and isn't afraid to jump inside to slow the ball. Made Bruce Feldman's Freak's List - ranked #31. He wrote, "He is the fastest guy on the Wolverines, having hit 23.07 mph on the GPS and run a 4.28 40 — out of a two-point stance, no less. His 3-cone time is even more stunning. He clocked a 6.29 this offseason, and strength coaches think he has a good shot at besting the combine record of 6.28, set in 2018 by Oklahoma’s Jordan Thomas. " Has the fluidity, speed and quick feet to come down and defend slot receivers in man coverage. Turner also does a nice job breaking down in space as a tackler after the catch. Brat&Beer
Edge or OL more likely. If Packers are in top 5 or so, I could see a trade down with a team that wants to draft a QB.
Gypsy1027
I think most Packer fans would be thrilled with this draft if it actually came to be. I know I am. The heart of what you are doing, IMHO, is something the team needs to do: we need more really good players more than we need one or two great ones. Trading down is the means to get what we need.
