Karnage84
6) Tyree Wilson, Edge, Texas Tech: Likely going to have a Travon Walker kind of rise and may be the first edge guy taken off the board. He's available here. He'll play closed end opposite of Hutchinson and solidify our defensive line in a big way 18) Joey Porter Jr, CB, Penn State: This is a deep CB class and the Lions opt to risk missing out on Gonzalez/Witherspoon. Porter is CB3 in the class and is a great fit at 18 behind a revamped D Line 48) Jack Campbell, ILB, Iowa: Campbell is going to be the heir-apparent to the Alex Anzalone spot next to Malcolm Rodriguez. He's a reliable tackler, solid run defender and has been elite in zone coverage. His instincts and awareness should make up for a lack of top end athleticism. 55) Sydney Brown, S, Illinois: He has been balling out at the Senior Bowl. He's a versatile safety that makes plays on the ball, gets takeaways and is solid against the run. Pair him up with his old teammate Kerby Joseph and we have a dynamic safety duo. Brown has 177 snaps at Slot Corner, 425 snaps at ILB. We can play 3 safeties and the health of Tracy Walker is up in the air. 81) Sean Tucker, RB, Syracuse: This is a deep RB class and Tucker slides. He has good size, speed and offers some ability as a receiver out of the backfield. He's either going to compliment our current RB group or potentially replace Swift. 154) Mekhi Garner, CB, LSU: He could be a safety conversion candidate but he's drafted to add to the CB group. He has incredible size (6'2, 212) and is a solid tackler. 183) McClendon Curtis, OT/OG, Chattanooga: A versatile player with snaps at LT and RG. He is drafted to provide depth on the OL and potentially develop as 194) Jerrod Clark, NT, Coastal Carolina: At 6'4, 340 lbs, he's a monster. He was able to provide some decent pressure, sacks and stop the run for a guy at his size/position. He could develop into an eventual starter. UDFA (These are the guys leftover from the PFF sim) Max Duggan, QB, TCU: He's probably going to be a late round pick. He's a young guy at 22 in a QB class with an average age of nearly 24 years old. Jayden Reed, WR, Michigan State: Local school guy. Versatile as an inside/outside guy. He's small but he has been balling out at the Senior Bowl Antoine Green, North Carolina: 6'2, 200 lbs. Brings some size to the WR corp we don't currently have. Deep ball, contested catch guy that has a nose for the end zone. 19.6 y/rec. Dalton Wagner, RT, Arkansas: A massive dude at 6'9, 337. Above average grade in zone and gap scheme. Isaiah Moore, LB, NC State Ben Van Sumern, LB, Michigan State Eku Leota, Edge, Auburn Truman Jones, Edge, Harvard Noah Gindorff, TE, North Dakota State Jordan Howden, S, Minnesota Jake Moody, K, Michigan > Priority free agent that will be offered significant money to play for his local squad
Louis Friend
The "I'm bored the night before the Superbowl" mock draft. 6. Jalen Carter DT Georgia - BPA, I'm trying to will this into existence. 18. Devon Witherspoon CB Illinois - Porter and Gonzalez were off the board. Some concerns about if he's 6'0" or 5'11". Slay was 5'11 7/8" at pre-draft measurements. I don't think size is an issue if the skillset is there, and it is. 48. Tuli Tuipulotu EDGE USC - Doubling up on the line. Tuli can play multiple positions and has. He has the tools to play all over. The potential to add him to Hutch, Houston, Alim and Carter would be heaven. 55. Jack Campbell LB Iowa - Linebacker is a need whether we re-sign Anzalone or not. Campbell can do it all but it's his coverage skills that excite me the most. 81. Andrew Vorhees OG USC - One of the best true OG in the draft. He could start at RG day one. This would allow us to cut Vaitai and use that capspace to address other needs. 154. Ja'von Hicks S Cincinnati - 5th year senior S who was elite in QB rating when targeted of 51.0. Good insurance at S in case we cannot re-sign DeShon Elliott. Might be able to play some NB as well. Big guy, 6'2" 210lbs. 183. Karl Brooks DT Bowling Green - My favorite value pick in the draft. From a smaller school so he won't go early in the draft, but he just produces. IMO, you can never have enough linemen. 194. Jake Moody K Michigan - We need a Kicker, Moody has the best leg in the draft. I'm not usually one to value K/P/LS in the draft, but this is a big need and free agency, as of current projections, does not offer anything for us.

Sllim Pickens
The big 2 were gone so I traded down twice picking up extra seconds. 6 for 8 and 44 8 for 10 and 62 and a 24 4th 10 - Devon Witherspoon, CB Illinois: Moved down and got the best CB in the class to fill a huge need. 18 - O'Cyrus Torrence, OG Florida: Not my favorite pick and probably should have taken Antonio Johnson here. I don't love this spot and would be fine trading down but no offers so just picked. A big need and a solid player. 44 - Jack Campbell, LB Iowa: Should be able to step in and be an upgrade to Anzalone 48 - Kelee Ringo, CB Georgia: More depth at CB. Mad Forbes went just before this pick but will take a shot on Ringo here. 55 - Karl Brooks, DT Bowling Green: Solid DT/end that plays the run and pass rush well. 62 - Jahmyr Gibbs, RB Alabama: Replacement for Swift if he is hurt and or leaves after next year. Similar player and skill set and would work great with Williams if he is re-signed. 83 - Rashee Rice, WR SMU: Replacement for Chark whether it be this year or in a year or two if Chark sticks around. 154 - Thomas Incoom, DE CMU: Depth on the line. He plays the run well and could be a nice platoon with Houston. 183 - S Gervarrius Owens, S Houston: Depth at S and excels in zone coverage. Can be that nickel DB that plays the run well enough but also better cover the middle of the field. 194 - Aubrey Miller Jr, LB Jackson St.: A LB that excels in coverage. Undersized at 225 but also makes for a solid nickel/dime type hybrid LB/S.

The more I look at this, the more I really like this draft a lot. I like the additions to the offense (while we need to work on the defense, we can't ignore it entirely) - Gibbs is a nice addition to the group and is Swift insurance; Rice is either going to be a really nice WR3 or WR4. Are we going to need to spend that kind of money on OL? Maybe not. I still really like the addition and wouldn't hate getting one of the better guys in the class. I like going back to the JSU well again and adding Miller.
Louis Friend
Yeah, I'm not as down on Ringo as others, I just don't like his value in the first, much like Bryan Bresee. Love the Gibbs/Rice picks there. Absolutely love Aubrey Miller. Great job Sllim. Looking over Holmes/Campbell's first two drafts, they are not afraid to move around for guys they like. I'm excited to see what they do. My only concern is their want of reaching for injured DL in the second round over better players. If they can avoid that this year, I'd be thrilled with whatever they do. Edited February 13 by Louis Friend
Karnage84
TRADE UP FOR CARTER The Bears trade #1 to Indianapolis with the Colts selecting Bryce Young (or insert QB here). This drops the Bears down to #4 with an eye on either Carter or Will Anderson. Detroit trades #6, #18, # 48 (2600 pts) to Arizona for #3, #34, #96 (2546 pts) 3) Jalen Carter, DT, Georgia - Best interior defender by large. Is going to put a lot of pressure on opposing QB's and free up Hutch 34) John Michael Schmitz, OC/OG, Minnesota - One of the best IOL in the whole draft. He's a plug in at RG but can play OC if Ragnow is hurt 55) Zach Harrison, Edge, Ohio State - Highly athletic freak with great size, puts a lot of pressure on the QB. Gives us a deep rotation on the DL 81) Jack Campbell, ILB, Iowa - He drops due to his athleticism but is highly instinctual and a great leader. He'll pair up really well with Rodrigo 96) Garrett Williams, CB, Syracuse - We need to add corners and build out our depth 152) Michael Wilson, WR, Stanford - Has great size and has been balling out at the Senior Bowl. Production was lacklustre and he fits in at WR4/WR5 with upside 181) Karl Brooks, DT/Edge, Bowling Green - Another high pressure player that can get after the QB. Offers a lot of positional versatility 192) Kaveon Merriweather, S, Iowa - A S with some LB size, plays a bit of a tweener role as a SS/nickel LB. Excellent tackler and has a knack for taking away the ball. Edited February 14 by Karnage84

Houston stays at 2 and takes Stroud or Levis. Lions can move up to get Carter before the Bears at 4. I would die if Carter goes to Chicago. 😥
BigC421/
6. Christian Gonzalez CB Oregon I think Gonzalez will be more unanimously considered worthy of this pick by April. Elite athlete, speed, excellent hips, long and lanky with ball skills. Willing tackler. Checks all the boxes and while I’d rather add an elite rusher I just don’t really see Murphy or Wilson as typical top 10 pass rushers. I think Wilson will be a good solid pro and love Murphy upside as a 5tech type but there not top 10 to me at this point. 18. Calijah Kancey DT Pitt Have to admit I just recently herd of this kid and he has quickly become my favorite player in the draft. Amazing talent, amazing pass rush skills. 6’1 280 is the knock but kid just had it. I could see him being in too 5 discussion by draft time if he shows out and teams don’t seem concerned with his size. None the less this pick should really be a great spot to land a big time player, I really hope they go bpa here regardless this always seems to be a sweet spot in the draft for a special guy to fall to. I’m a believer this team needs a few difference makers to make the leap more so that plug some holes. Holmes has proven to be able to plug holes with lesser resources. 48. Rashee Rice WR SMU Remember seeing him a few times earlier in the season and had just kind of stashed in back of my mind and forgot about until Karnage had listed him as one of the interesting wr’s to look in to based of pff numbers so I went back and watched some tape and oh yeah he can ball. Did not take long to remember what I liked about him. 59. Drew Sanders LBer Arkansas Very interesting prospect on so many levels. I just love his skill set and upside. He has all the physical tools of a modern off ball space coverage linebacker and shows that ability at times but is actually at his best rushing the passer. Plays all out every play. Will definitely get stuck to lineman in the run game early in his career. Didn’t play much at Bama and had 1 really good season ar Arkansas. I’d love to add a plug and play oline in the 1st 2 rounds to really try to have this oline make that jump from really good to impose your will great but I just like this group of prospects better than any Oline likely on board at these spots 81. Kenny McIntosh RB Georgia IDK every time I watched Georgia this year this kid kind of stood out to me. Solid speed and power to go with good hands. Haven’t deep dived him yet but always seemed to have good vision

I really wonder about Carter's conditioning and ability to stay on the field. Workouts and interviews will tell a lot, I suppose. I had similar feelings about Jordan Davis, and for one season so far, those concerns came to be. I think the Lions are in a good spot at 6. The only thing that can really hurt them is if something like last year happens and all the QBs slide out of the top 10, but I think that's terribly unlikely. I'd be very happy with one of Anderson, Carter or Wilson at 6, if three QBs go in the first five. Or, if only two QBs get taken, then I think a trade down is, for once, very realistic especially now that the Raiders released Carr.

Enough questions with Murphy and Wilson that make me nervous. I would prefer Witherspoon or Gonzales at 6 than a DL if the top two are gone. But I also think I would rather trade down as far as needed to grab another 1st next year. I am guessing if for a QB that would be in the 10-15 range which we can grab one of the CBs or Branch there. Kancey has been moving up or Murphy might be there in that range too. So I like getting value moving down and letting some of the teams who need QBs, OTs and WRs grab them in between and still likely landing a very good DB/DL.
davisblack
Charlie Campbell's latest mock is laughably bad for the Lions. Gotta love when these "experts" do minimal research on teams. 6. Bijan Robinson RB Texas - I think he'll be good/great, but the Lions clearly have much bigger holes to fill, also taking any RB top 10 or even top 20 is pretty gross as it is. 18. Joey Porter Jr. CB Penn St. - Fine pick, but I'm not quite sold on Porter yet 48. Darnell Washington, TE, Georgia 🤢 55. Jack Campbell, LB, Iowa - Good Pick 81. Sam LaPorta, TE, Iowa - Wow two TE's in the top 81??? 🤣🤢🤢 I wouldn't be surprised if he threw in a third TE for good measure if it was a full mock. Especially in regards to the TE position. However, I am nervous that Bijan could get picked up. I too think he could be really good, and if he is rated the best player in the draft regardless of position, could Holmes take him to make that offense hum? I hope not, but I don't think it could be impossible. If that happened, I'd lose some respect for Holmes. I'd have a hard time taking Bijan at 18, let alone 6.
