You also have to pony up draft capital for Rodgers. And then even if either decide to come here...in what world are we winning a championship with this OL? So after spending 30-50 million on a QB for a 1-3 year championship window, we can't even fix the OL because we don't have cap space. The only “star” that has any possibility of maybe coming here might be Lamar. And that’s very doubtful. After all the super high draft picks we had in the first round and still failed. Tannehill is the perfect veteran, knows the offense, has a similar skillset to Wilson and has shown he can win. Carr, hell no. Then you have to play in the ballpark of Deshaun Watsons contract apparently. If they don’t wanna pay him, they probably have a good reason. Phillenium Posted January 10, 2023 Share Posted January 10, 2023 The dead money that the Packers would have from trading Rodgers is not talked about nearly enough. 68 million or so would be incredibly prohibitive for them to do just about anything next offseason. That contract he signed last year has basically made it so he either retires or he plays for them.
