The fact that England failed to score a goal against an objectively not good team is horrible. Mexico and Canada would have done a better job. They ARE a top-15 team in the world, and are on a sharp upward trajectory. They will be borderline top-10 by 2026. Mexico has already fallen off and is on a heavy decline. They are a full generation away from being relevant, IF they fix their entire federation right now. Moving forward they will be fighting with Costa Rica, Jamaica, and Honduras as a mid-level CONCACAF team. Canada had a good run, but no they had a LOT go right in qualifying and were exposed once they got to the big show. Obviously wrong, just a few days ago Canada was the team to beat in North America, being above Mexico, and FAR above the US. Nearly everyone was in agreement that Canada was the team to beat, and the best North American team by far. Now all of a sudden they aren't? Now all of a sudden they aren't? 😂 Just because they had a few more points in qualifying doesn’t mean they are a meaningfully better team than USA or Mexico. The WC results show that. Canada fully deserves credit for how well they played in CONCACAF qualifying, but CONCACAF is a completely different animal than the World Cup. Different style.
