mdonnelly21
Who's been more valuable?
Raves
Once again, not started by a Saints fan. But the answer is Russell Wilson. Brees hasn't been required to do more than keep defenses honest during their win streak outside of those heroics to end the 4th quarter this past week. JMG5
Russell, obviously. Drew has a solid running game behind him. Also, Drew has a better OLine, which really helps. Russell has to do a lot with a little. He has no running game and a poor offensive line. His skill position players are great, but that doesn't mean much when you don't have time to throw. He has carried the Seahawks so far this year. This is coming from a Saints fan by the way.
patriotsheatyan
Bree's. Better numbers, better record, more meaningful play. Wilson has been awful almost every first half I have watched but ran up the score in the end (Indy and NYG) or had some late game heroics (SF) or they just got beat up (GB) or they didn't put up many points (ARI). With all of the hype he got last night, he ended up with 250 yards passing, 2 TDs, and 2 TOs. "Wilson is carrying the Seahawks!" The Seahawks aren't going anywhere and haven't been impressive. "Wilson's defense has been bad!" The Seahawks defense has been mostly good up until the last week. It has carried them to numerous wins. The Seahawks have only won a single shoot out this season, which seems to be setting the narrative. "Wilson's line sucks" Six years into his career and we hear the same thing every year. It's almost as if having a 5'10" QB who's first instinct is to run backwards and then in circles complicates pass protection.
Haha21
Russell Wilson, right now he is accounting for over 80% of the the Seahawks yards. That's his passing and rushing yards. If you don't have Wilson the Seahawks are probably a four win team right now. Yeah Brees has been great, but he has a very dynamic running game and an improved defense, because of that he hasn't been asked to do as much. The Seahawks have a terrible offensive line and running game. Russell has to do more for Seattle to be competitive in any of these games.
Jlowe22
I just don't understand why someone would make this thread.
TecmoSuperJoe
I think both have been just as valuable to their teams. They're quality franchise quarterbacks. Without them the Saints and Seahawks would be terrible.

Are you honestly looking at the current OLine for the Seahawks and think they are good at pass protection?
Jlowe22
Well let's see...which QB scored 47 points on a team by handing the ball off 24 straight times and passing for 180 yards?

Not having competent players complicates pass protection Wilson is doing as much individually as any player in the league.
AFlaccoSeagulls
Wilson is accounting for over 80% of Seattle's total offensive yardage, and they don't have a RB with 250 yards ON THE YEAR. Drew Brees is having one of his best seasons yet thanks to an emergence from his running game and solid defense. It's Russell Wilson.

Okung, Sweezy, Carpenter, Giacomini all got payed alot money to play elsewhere with key players contracts running up (Kam, Sherm, Earl. Wilson, Bobby, KJ, DB) Justin Britt (2nd) Mark Glowinski (4th) Terry Poole (4th) Gerimaine Ifedi (1st) Rees Odihambo (2nd) Ethan Pocic (2nd) 2nd+3rd Duane Brown $$$$$ Luke Joekel They also made legit runs at FA tackles but came up short They haven't neglected it, they bungled it. Seattle just cant evaluate OL talent and has a philosophy of spending money at more premier positions (Skill positions, defensive line, and secondary). TecmoSuperJoe
Wilson's sack percentage this year is actually the lowest it's ever been. Season isn't over course.
tom cody
Went with Russell Wilson. Brees and the Saints have a better record but their offense is more balanced this years than in previous years.
sammymvpknight
Lol. It’s almost like someone has an agenda to get people to hate the Saints fans by the end of the season. So much goes into playing the QB position. Brees has been a game manager this season...and really, Ingram is probably our MVP on offense. But Brees puts up 300 yard passing game like you and I fart. At any given moment, when he wants to, he can become the feared Drew Brees. I think he’s the perfect QB for the Saints right now. I also believe that Wilson is the perfect QB behind that trash OL for the Seahawks. I love them both...
