Rooting interests strictly for playoff positioning:

Lions over Vikings ✔️

Eagles over Giants ✔️

Panthers over Seahawks ✔️

Falcons and Commanders both on BYE this week.

Lions cannot move up in the standings but can cut into that magic number in a big way with these three wins.

Since we're all getting buzzed on the Honolulu Blue kool-aid, why not check out the potential of the Lions winning the division.

Wk 15 - Colts @ Vikings

Wk 16 - Giants @ Vikings

Wk 17 - Vikings @ Packers

Wk 18 - Vikings @ Bears

The Vikings are currently 10-3. A bad stretch for them would be 1-3 and I suspect they'll at least split and go 2-2, finishing the year at 11-6 or 12-5. If the Lions run the table, we're looking at 10-7. We're probably in the playoffs. Let's say we go worst case scenario for the Vikings and they go 0-4 while the Lions run the table. Both teams finish the season at 10-7. So there IS a pathway.

Who wins the division?

1) Head to Head: Both teams would be 1-1

2) Win % in Division: Lions are currently 3-1 + Rest of schedule = 5-1; Vikings are currently 3-1, in order for us to even be in this situation they'd have to lose to the Packers and Bears. 3-3 division record

Lions would win the NFC North and would probably be the 3rd team in the conference.

We have the easiest schedule opponent wise of the bunch but we also are on the road the most which is bad because we have been a much worse offense on the road this year.  Partially skewed because of that NE game but aside from that we are still worse.

I think I am pulling for Washington next weekend since I think they have a tougher schedule afterwards.  They both have at least two tough games after that so good chance they lose one or both of them and both likely win their easier game.  I think our best chance to get in is if we move past both of them since we do have the tiebreakers against both of them.

Seahawks likely go 2-2 which would mean we have to go 4-0 down the stretch to jump them given we don't have the tiebreakers.

There is a good chance GB in the final week is for a playoff spot for the winner.   That would be a fun game if it ends up that way but also scary since its hard to win there in January with a passing attack.

Lions win Sunday, no matter the outcome of the Washington/Giants game, Lions move up.

Lions Win/WAS vs NYG tie- Seahawks (6th) and Lions (7th) move into playoffs due to tiebreakers

Lions Win/WAS or NYG lose- Winner of that game stays (6th), Seahawks move up (7th), Lions move up (8th), Loser moves down (9th).

Think you might be ignoring the fact that the tie Giants and Commanders have nullifies any tie breakers the Lions have over them because the Lions would need to have a tie to have an identical record for tie breakers to apply.

Lets say the Giants lose, the Seahawks have already lost and the Lions win. Giants 7-6-1 Seahawks 7-7 Lions 7-7.

7-6-1 is a better winning percentage than 7-7.

This is true.
