I highly doubt Fox would be on board with losing the money they got by airing the Rams Seahawks game.

But if both games were airing on NBC simultaneously, the Lions could still be playing for a playoff spot now, rather than entering tonight's game knowing they are eliminated already. If they won tonight, and the Seahawks game was in primetime and they still won, at least the Lions wouldn't feel screwed now. I proposed this because there have been numerous instances in the past of two games affecting a particular playoff spot airing on CBS or Fox at the same time in the final week of the season. This situation was no different, and thus would have been appropriate to do on NBC too. Just today three teams were playing for the #7 seed in the AFC at the same time, albeit not all on the same network. It's just never going to happen with these tv contracts.
Nnivolcm
Quote Schefter also reports that a team executive not associated with either the Lions or the Rams said that there’s “a real groundswell of unhappiness with officiating that is much deeper than I’ve seen and frankly, I haven’t seen in this league in years. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/14/report-officiating-in-week-18-seahawks-win-led-to-calls-for-improved-training/ Lions fans:
