I know you’re not a Wentz fan but I think Heinicke, Wentz and Howell are all superior QBs to Baker Mayfield. Mayfield doesn’t add anything to Washington’s roster. The injury started his regression probably more by highlighting the fact that he's awful at helming an offense that asks him to pass from the pocket instead of rolling out and making only 2 reads. He dislocates his off shoulder, now he can't torque his body and throw a rocket while rolling out to the left. Now he actually has to sit there and make a read when, either because of his height or lack of understanding of coverages, can't find open receivers. The problem going forward is that the book is out on him, defenses are going to try and keep him in the pocket where his entire career he's been awful. He's also not that fast so he can't easily escape the pocket if defenses don't let him. He's a fun player I would love to see him in an offense that replicates the 2020 Browns, but unless he takes a giant mental leap he could also be out of the league in the next couple years.
