Role the dice on the massive upside.

The Chargers just hold his rights. His options were work for some other non-NFL entity, sit out a season, or sign with the team who held his rights. I don't know whether or not it is true that a player cannot be traded after a length of time after signing a contract. But that didn't apply to Eli Manning.

Weird value situation. Really it's going to come down to who wants the trade to happen first and I don't honestly know the answer to that one. The Packers will not settle for a 3rd rounder for Rodgers ... period. They will tell the Jets to pound sand and go from there. Aaron frickin Rodgers for a 3rd rounder .. to a team that has NO qb .. ABSURD.
beekay414
Hooker is a gimmick QB and he's like 26.
15412
The injury really brings Hooker down, and there isn’t enough to go on for a full review. He could end up an awful good NFL QB though and look to see him taken fairly early Day 2. To me Stroud is clearly the best prospect at the position in this draft, and not just going by his last game. Size, arm enough, pocket feet, patience. Young the clear 2nd at the position and only the size bringing him off number 1. He simply makes plays happen but in the NFL I like Stroud’s potential better. Levis easily 3rd for me, not only for the rocket arm and athleticism combo but the history of starts in a pro style offense. He has experience and played what he did last year all beat up. Tough guy, driven, the best skill arm in the draft. Needs to work a bit on touch, needs to be consistently more accurate. Very correctable. Richardson a Green athlete, there were games he did impress and games where he looked overwhelmed. I have trouble putting him in the 1st round but he’s an athletically gifted QB with size so he’ll be over drafted. Could end up great but there is also great bust potential.
Green19
Over at zone coverage there was this quote: One unnamed NFL executive, while discussing the Jets pursuit of Odell Beckham Jr, told ESPN’s Rich Cimini “They’re just intoxicated with Rodgers, they’ve sold their soul now.” Sooooooo, leverage? Haha

Haha Well they should be. He's still one of the best QB's in the league. They need to come up with first round value. Totally fair. Mentor young Wilson turn the team into a contender overnight. Jets will be relevant. It is a smart move to get him and they are buying low. Had it been last year it would have cost them 3X in draft capital.
ChaRisMa
I don’t know if this has been asked in this thread, but I gotta ask… If we refuse the Jets FINAL FINAL offer (regardless of what it is), doesn’t Aaron Rodgers just retire and that’s that? Can’t we hold him under contract until the 4th day of the 2024 waiver period (post Super Bowl) and then cut him without triggering his next guarantees? They are only injury guaranteed. He’s not gonna stay focused on football all season while collecting checks on some kind of exemption list a la Deshaun Watson for a year. Gute needs to ask for MORE than I was thinking. Actually scoring a point for Mark Murphy and Gute on this one. If the trade isn’t awesome, screw it. Let’s sit him for the year and cut his healthy body next February.
