I think Washington are going to struggle to pay all those DL they have...I also don't see any reason why we wouldn't pay out big contracts this season...we have the cap space and weren't big cash spenders last season. I think they will spread the money out to more players, not just a few bigger names. What ever they decide to do I hope it goes better than this past FA group. I just feel they need to find some proper proven talent and that usually costs money in FA...I think they target all tiers of FA and bank on having more quality draft picks to also turn this roster around...like you said whatever they do it has to be more impactful that last season but it was clear why last offseason went the way it did...Poles wants to flip this roster quickly and in a lot of ways. Sugashane
I think there will be 1-2 big signings and then after that there will be a lot more small ones. As much as I would like a Madden-like spending spree there will be a cap on what they will spend. I think it still ends up being less than the Jags got to throw around last year While IDK what they will do, even if they spend $161 mil it would surely be a significantly better team than what was fielded this season. Even signings that were poor for the amount they cost should still hold more talent then guys like AQM, Patrick, and St. Brown.

I think Poles knows he needs to get at least one true impact player in FA, and that’s not counting what he needs to add as far as real talent on the OL. Don’t forget some of that cap space is gonna get used for some extensions too (Johnson? Kmet? Mooney?).

But the trick is that this is the year to frontload some of those deals to make them more manageable for the next several. A frontloaded deal with an agent year at the end could do wonders for cap flexibility. Also you can only roll over so much, idk what but you have to spend X amount to do it at least. Madmike90
Jalen Carter at times seems to take some time to get into games but then he can just take over...back to back big time rushes that won't show on the stat sheet but he gets a quality rush right up the middle and creates a sack for a freshman DT...then on the next play he gets in the QBs face quickly and pressures him into the INT...he might not show up on every snap but he has such an impact at times it's hard to not see him as a top 5 pick. He looks completely different than last week. TCU just can't do anything to do more than slow him down some. THIS is the Carter I was missing last game.
HuskieBear
not a FA, but i would try and get D-Hop out of AZ. they have about $22M in cap space rn and he counts for $30M next year. He'll be 31 next season and have 2 years left on his deal - but with Murray out for most of next season likely and the potential of a year long sussy if he gets dinged again, AZ might want to move on. I'd offer our 4th rounder and see if AZ bites. would be huge for JF1 to have a GUAGI guy like that

He’s missed something like 13 games or so in the last two years too. Definitely a ton of risk involved but stand to get so much out of it. If the cards are just wanting to cut weight and find cap for the future and accept an absolute lowball offer, all the better.

His work ethic is off the charts so he would fit in and be that leader a true WR1 should be. Also the Saints are going to cut Mike Thomas. He may be a interesting add as a wr3 or 4. Hopkins’ presence on the field alone would open things up for everyone else.
Madmike90
I didn’t think it would take so much to get to the cap floor but given it is I can’t see how we don’t make a play for DeAndre Hopkins…a bigger contract for a proven player will cut down on just how much you have to spend in FA.
